Some times you have to go back before you can go forward. This team is being rebuilt from the ground up and thats not going to happen in one year. It took me a minute to see the light but after I raged I now do…

Progress is most important… seeing the progressive development of returning players along with a noticeable floor increase in the level of talent coming in out of high school.

That takes time to see the results and maybe Miami isn’t the overnight rebuild we’ve been telling ourselves the last 20 years. Mario isn’t perfect but I believe he knows what it takes to get Miami to being a top 5-10 team on a year to year basis at worst. So trust the process.

118-85 from the 2005 Peach Bowl until Manure's final game in 2021.

0-for-18 in ACC championships; 1-of-17 in Coastal Division titles. (Conversely, Virginia Tech—invited to the ACC as an afterthought—won the conference four times and took six division titles between 2004 and 2013.)

Third head coach in five years with Mario at the helm; sixth head coach in 17 years. Hardly a model of consistency or stability in Coral Gables the past two decades.

Five games in to the Cristobal era and this fan base is lumping almost two decades of incompetence on this staff, because they foolishly started running their mouths last December that Miami was "back" with Mario—"just add water!" and the program is fixed.

Now they're embarrassed because the Canes are 2-3 and they look dumb to their rival buddies, so they're gonna scream every loss about firing the whole staff and saying that Oregon fans were right about Cristobal and Michigan fans were on point with their Gattis assessment.

It's stupid. All of it.

Beat Virginia Tech. Then beat Duke. Then get ready for Charlottesville, which is often a rough place to play. Then bring it for Florida State. Then show up for Georgia Tech. Then go balls out at Clemson and leave it all out there. Then beat Pitt on Senior Day.

Seven one-game seasons.

Buckle in as this is a rebuild, whether you want it to be, or not. Time to start accepting what "is" versus what disgruntled fans think it should be.

Yeah, literally heard the same thing in fall 1997 when Miami was 1-2, going into West Virginia weekend—fans wanting to run off Butch Davis in year three, and then three years later he had a powerhouse and these same people were crying when he left for the NFL.

It's five games into year one—for a program that's been an underachieving, underfunded train wreck for 17 years. Relax. Nothing was getting solved by October.

You don't "think" he'll get better; time will prove if he will, or won't—doesn't matter what anyone "thinks".

Stockholm Syndrome.

Blink to us the number of captors holding you.

Stay strong, help is on the way.

I don’t get the lofty expectations after one offseason coming off 8 years of a horrrrribly “coached” defense and 4 years of a HORRIBLY managed head coaching position. I wasn’t a fan of the Mario hire … but I’m willing to wait more than 5 games before I’m ready to call it a failure.

We’ve been mediocre at BEST for literally 20 years and y’all want a drastic change in 5 games…

Spare me the “we should be this team and that team”. WE HAVENT FOR THE PAST 20 YEARS AND IT ISNT GONNA BE FIXED IN ONE OFFSEASON! We lost to FIU just 2 years ago!!!!!!!!!!

This has been a horribly coached roster .. let’s forget the richt era … this team is still severely UNDERCOACHED !!!!! I mean .. look at our players in the league now. We have nothing outside of a very small few who make plays .. but no studs outside maybe G. Rousseau.

I just don’t get the lofty expectations in year 1 (of a coach I wasn’t even high on).

Butch DAW GAWD allowed those losses as part of his grand scheme of dominance.

It's pure stupidity to compare 5 games into the 97 season, to 5 games into this season...
No comparison whatsoever....we could barely hold a practice in 97...we had already lost 20 schollies by then, and 7 more following 97.
Can you imagine the state of this program if that were the case today??....

Only ppl not rolling w/ Mario r delusional fans thinking this was a 10+ win roster. Lol

Set their @$$es up for failure. My only issues w/ Mario have been two things:

1. Off season - he should’ve ate that portal alive. However, in his defense, Riley & SC was doing a lot of back door channeling (allegedly) b4 it became official. Kids were on flip watch & immediate transfers began to ensue. Coincidence??? Hmmmm.

2. Clock mgmt has been god awful. MTSU upset me from an effort & defensive standpoint, but A&M upset me from a clock mgmt standpoint. UNC, we simply beat ourselves.

Regardless, every HC coming to a new situation deserves two yrs. If we see the same shenanigans next yr, then worry should set in.
I agree and I'm rolling with Mario but I have most certainly had my issues with him. Mine are:

1 Game Management. This should read game mismanagement but you get the idea

2 Offensive philosophy etc..... It took him and staff 4 games to finally realize that TVD absolutely thrives in an uptempo spread offense that utilizes RPO's and Air Raid concepts. True we beat ourselves vs UNC but the game vs ATM and MTSU would have both been wins with the TVD we saw this past Saturday. I realize that we are in a rebuild but those are games that you just can't let get away. Still it's a learning process for everyone.

This team desperately needs to win 3 straight and continue to improve.

Fix redzone and no coverage busts and we start to roll
I'll go with that. If we can improve in those two areas it would be a tremendous help. As far as the 3 game winning streak goes...... I'll do you one better. Well, actually two better. I'm going to call a 5 game winning streak. Clemson will then snap our little win streak then we beat Pitt at home to go 8-4.

1. VT (Win)
2. Duke (Win)
3. UVA (Win)
4. FSU (Win)
5. GT. (Win)
6. Clemson (Loss)
7. Pitt (Win)
