Krazy’s Corner: I’m riding with Mario 😎

I’ll believe it when I see it.

All that other fairytale Santa Claus sh*t is for naive children & special needs adults.

This is a results oriented business, not placebo hopes & dreams evangelism; either win the fckin games or stop trying to convince me he’s something he’s not.

There is no other choice but so far he has drastically underperformed expectations although i expect that somewhat from coaches that arent aces on either side of the ball he has been everything he was as a duck terrible gameday coaching offense that is not explosive at all but we have no other choice so all you can do is ride hopefully he can adapt to 2020 cfb

We could win a championship in 3 years and people will still be talking about "Yea but we lost to MTSU" that is over with. Either support the man or haul ***. He ain't going anywhere for a while

Yes the worse loss in the programs history we need to let it go 4 sure

Also anyone thinking we were going to go undefeated or win 10 games is crazy also ressonable expectations would be 9 wins anything under 8 is a complete disaster

Some times you have to go back before you can go forward. This team is being rebuilt from the ground up and thats not going to happen in one year. It took me a minute to see the light but after I raged I now do…

Progress is most important… seeing the progressive development of returning players along with a noticeable floor increase in the level of talent coming in out of high school.

That takes time to see the results and maybe Miami isn’t the overnight rebuild we’ve been telling ourselves the last 20 years. Mario isn’t perfect but I believe he knows what it takes to get Miami to being a top 5-10 team on a year to year basis at worst. So trust the process :

Mario also thinks we should run 4 straight times at the two into a 9 man front when everyone else in the stadium knows we ain’t gonna get it!

I don't generally like playing the what if game - you gotta make the best of what you got.

But I do think if Zion, X, Chaney, Citizen don't get hurt this Offense is noticeably better and some of those L's are W's.

Losing your best OL, WR, and RB is going to take a toll.
Agree but think that speaks to the point @KrazyCane and others are making. For years now we’ve been an injury or two away from the bar being lowered substantially. Citizen is an unknown but the expectations are justified. Chaney has rarely been healthy since he’s been here although he’s by far the most gifted back on the roster. I’ll give you Zion and X. But the fact we have two unproven guys we throw into the mix of what if they would have stayed healthy is indicative of the issues and lack of playmaking on this roster as a whole. Although I will lump Citizen in with Wes as the type of recruits which will turn this program around from a personnel and leadership standpoint.

Call me Krazy but I think we go on a little run.

Somehow put the blown coverages to an end
Continue to spread the ball out and emphasize TVD's arm
Use that to your advantage to open up the box and get some semblance of a running game back.

That's enough to go on a run like the end of last season against this schedule.
Pleasure to meet you "Krazy"

I agree with you - which is why I said I don't like the "what if" game. I mean - injuries happen to every team. We played Texas A&M without their top WR and half their secondary missing - so they could say it they would've beat us by more if they had everybody, right? It goes both ways.

The difference IMO is this isn't 1 or 2 guys - it's 4 guys who made up our best player at 3 different positions. Each 1 individually doesn't move the needle, but as a whole, I think they do. I can't remember a year where we lost our 3 best guys at 3 different positions. Probably has happened, but I can't remember it.

As for RB & Citizen/Chaney - we don't have an RB averaging 5.0 ypc right now. Take out BCU, we don't have an RB averaging over 4.2 ypc. That's as pedestrian as it gets. Citizen/Chaney wouldn't have to be elite, or even really good. Somewhere between Good & Above-Average jumps to #1 in this backfield. So I'm assuming at least 1 of them would've been above average. And if Chaney/Citizen weren't going to be above average when healthy, then RB is going to be an issue for a while. We'll always be solid at RB, it'll just be a while before we can consider that position a "strength"

Bingo...just like in 17 when we losrt Herndon and Ahmon Richards in back to back weeks...that hurt us bad vs Pitt and Clemson. I am not saying that we beat Clemmie, but had both been healthy for Pitt, we win that game. And I believe that the ACC Ship would have been a lot closer...close enough that a lucky break or 2 and we win it.

Exactly - and that's 2 guys at the end of the season. This year we've lost 3-4 of your top offensive guys at the start of the season.

Agree and think we’re generally on the same page. Tough to throw Citizen on the list as far game day goes. Not because of talent but the unknown of his ability to pick up the book with pass pro and such. I’d love to have all those guys healthy. Especially X as far as him being the guy for TVD. I look forward to the day where these few losses don’t swing the pendulum so much. Again, we’re so far from a full cupboard it’s tough to deal with.

@DMoney told me he ain't worried in the pre season show! Said he put down the bottle! No need to stress we got the staff and the money now. So I'm laid back not worrying.

A few injuries ruining the season means we don't have depth of talent. This excuse can only work for so long. That's why our last two coaches were three and out.

This is why I like pure X’s and O’s guru specialist coaches (offense or defense). More often than not the other stuff about culture and blah blah is bullsh1t and a cover or point of emphasis because a dude just isn’t good at the game itself.

Results are all that matters in sports. I’m not a Mario hater…..but right now I hear pretty much the identical stuff I heard from Al Golden and guys like that. Just go coach football. Go get results and stop talking about this utopia (where every player is an all American of incredible character, unheard of work ethic and toughness etc) that isn’t likely to ever become a reality. Go coach football and stop talking about things that aren’t qualifiable. In major CFB everyone is tough, works hard and has a decent level of talent. Go coach em up

I'm with you. I get it's hard to project what Citizen would've been. It's pure speculation - but it's also based on very positive early reports.

I'm in the camp that the importance of pass pro is a overrated for RB's. I think a 220 lb Citizen potentially would be a big upgrade over 190 lb Parrish/Knighton in both goal line & pass pro situations. It's not like Parrish/Knighton are killing it it in either of those situations as it is, so hard for me to imagine Citizen being much worse.

Only ppl not rolling w/ Mario r delusional fans thinking this was a 10+ win roster. Lol

Set their @$$es up for failure. My only issues w/ Mario have been two things:

1. Off season - he should’ve ate that portal alive. However, in his defense, Riley & SC was doing a lot of back door channeling (allegedly) b4 it became official. Kids were on flip watch & immediate transfers began to ensue. Coincidence??? Hmmmm.

2. Clock mgmt has been god awful. MTSU upset me from an effort & defensive standpoint, but A&M upset me from a clock mgmt standpoint. UNC, we simply beat ourselves.

Regardless, every HC coming to a new situation deserves two yrs. If we see the same shenanigans next yr, then worry should set in.
You are correct. We can only blame ourselves for having unrealistic expectations. I get the 20-year frustration, I’ve been in it like everyone. As recently as Manny, I had a wait and see attitude, but somehow with Mario coming back. I got excited and lost my footing. I’m in on him, regardless of the first 5-game performance and perhaps even the season. He will bring stable success to the program. B*tch I will, when there’s a loss, but I won’t lose the sight of the bigger picture.

Wouldn’t it be nice to fly a banner supporting Mario and the team, for a change? I’d pitch in.
