Bernie is always a Cane!

Kosar was at the game for a meal with Blake and CMR asked him impromptu to speak to the team at the hotel.

Our 1983 team will be honored at halftime this saturday, so it was awesome for Kosar to address the players.

CMR introduced Kosar as the guy who won the first championship after losing [28-3] in the first game against Florida [before winning out],

First thing he said, ‘Men, it can be intimidating to come to Miami because there are so many great players. There’sJim Kelly, Vinny Testaverde ... I didn’t think I belonged. I thought I should transfer. I thought I should go a smaller school.’ He said, ‘Hang in there, your day is going to come.’

He said at the U its a huge family regardless of the year you played at, the relationship ties players from his era to players that played in the 2010s as if we are one team!.

There will be competition. If you don’t run from it, you will become a better player.

CMR said that Kosar forgot to mention me, when listing those quarterbacks who were teammates and competed with during Kosar’s time at UM.

That is fantastic.

Kosar was a great QB. Best game I remember was in Raymond James stadium in 1984 against UF where we made a come-back in the last few seconds against all odds to win. He sure couldn't run though & looked awkward when out of the pocket.

lol watching Bern run was a painful thing at best, would love to line him and Brady up in a drag race in their prime, now that would be a race, you could eat a sandwich before they covered 40 yards, i have always thought they put to much emphasis on speed, especially QB's

Best part was the gators carrying their coach off and him trying get down because Bernie was driving. Bernie always said had NE scored that two point conversion the year before, he would have had time to score again to win.

Kosar may have waddled like a duck when he ran but he could read a defense as good as any QB I have ever watched.

He played well in Cleveland

Nuff said
Saw him come in in relief in Dallas, old, beat down, couldn't hardly move, drove em right down the field and scored like it was nothing. Had only been on the team a week maybe, didn't know the O, unbelievable, he could read a D in a second and get the ball to the open man, not many like that
