Eh, thats three incarnations of college football ago. Its like saying Richt's offense won a national championship. Yeah, it did...but its not really relevant here. I get what you're saying...and in response to this guys post, but the air raid not winning it all in 20 years is worthy of note.
Air Raid for lower end schools becomes a gimmick to mask talent deficiencies...not too dissimilar to how the option is used. For the Air Raid, because of the lack of talent - a lot of teams like Washington State or TTech fail to establish the run. The run is an aspect of college football thats pretty much mandatory for success in this era of the game. Its why these teams - or even today's incarnation of Oklahoma if you extend the argument - struggle when they play teams with superior line talent and defensive backs that can tackle. That stop the YAC opportunities the Air Raid requires to succeed dead in their tracks.
This is less important in the NFL where they have super human QBs running the system and a completely different discussion, but I digress.
As for Miami...Miami would put up a billion points and break passing records running this offense, but I feel like Miami would see the same result...the minute the played teams like Bama, current Georgia, Clemson, Ohio State...their lack of run game would be exposed and they wouldn't pick up the cheap YAC yards the offense needs to be successful.
