USC is the first case where a university has denied an NFL team an interview with a contract bound coach ( per PFT). Lynn Swann is a moron. Clayu Helton is dead man walking even if USC wins with K K.

Nope, Temple just took the money. USC is 1st school to ever deny a coach an NFL interview. Temple AD smarter than Lynn Swann. KK can resign now with a cheap buyout ( pocket change ) and USC can go suck it.

USC knew what it was when they signed up. They might end up with egg on their face, but don't knock them for trying. They're doing what they have to do, as will he. That the game you play at that level.

The idea of not going after someone because they're highly touted reeks of incecurity.

You don't sign on as an OC to a school and then decide to look at other
jobs.

Wow. Even I didn't envision this turning into as much as a clusterf*ck. Let's say he doesn't take/get an NFL job and stays at USC. Now let's say their offense looks good but they still suck and Helton gets canned. Swann ain't making Kingsbury the interim now or keeping him as HC- if Kingsbury wants to stay in college at that point.

So this whole deal on Kingsbury's end is becoming even less of a winning deal. Watch him bolt now like Jeff Jagodzinski did.

Lynn Swann is an intelligent dude but this is absolutely an example of the risk in hiring a completely inexperienced AD.

If USC knew what they were getting then they're complete idiots, or I would at least have some type of contractual clause to pay whatever money he earned back to the school if he renigged. I'd can his @ss if I was Swann. He can play that game alone if he wants.
