Kirby Smart

Believe what you want. They might be living on their name, but the ACC is clearly living off last year.

That said...there’s just a lot of bad football being played everywhere, it seems.

But you said the SEC is head and shoulders above the ACC. Go ahead and defend that. Who is putting them up there.....Alabama and who?
Better still, I’ll let you keep believing that this years ACC is better than or equal to the SEC.

So you have no answer. Not entirely unexpected.

And btw, is LSU still struggling against Troy?

Kirby Smart is a corch. Took over a loaded team that also already had a top 5 recruiting class.

MSU got hype for beating an overrated LSu team that is losing to Troy. Tenn is trash also. So they haven't faced any really
Goood teams and with their schedule they won't have to until they play Bama.

For his teams fast start this year.
I will down grade him from a Cat 5 Corch to a Cat 3.

SEC might be overrated but it’s still head and shoulders better than the CURRENT ACC.

GA tech lost to Tennessee; Duke? Dismantled Friday; Wake? Be serious; VA?; FSU? Pitt is bad; UNC, winless; NC State lost to SC; can’t forget forgettable Boston College. Won’t even mention by name the conference interloper that’s in the conference for all but football. And in the top 25 purely on “name”. (The SEC would never allow partial membership and neither would the Big 10. They’d already ruined the Big East with the same crap.)

VT, Louisville, Miami and Clemson are the only teams that look like they should have a winning record this year. Clearly the ACC has fallen off.

And who's good in the SEC again outside Alabama? SEC is terrible. Alabama, maybe Ga and then mediocre Auburn. Rest of the league is total dog****. Troy is about to beat LSU ffs.

Here we go.

The SEC isn't head and shoulders above ANY Power 5 conference. Talk about going purely on "name".

New porster talking up the incredibly shītty (minus Alabama) SEC, this must be @DCDognuts with a new handle.

They barely beat the best team they have played to date. ND 20-19. They have beaten garbage outside of that game. App State, Samford, overrated Miss State, and a garbage Tenn team. Pump the breaks bud.

To be fair and hate to say it, but ND looks to be a pretty decent team.

National championship coach down the road? The odds aren't in his favor and he'll have to grow as a coach, but he looks as promising as Dabo at this point in his career.

The team is playing better than they were the last year with Richt. They are overrated, but I may have been wrong about Smart. I think he might be a pretty good coach.

You'll cowards must have forgot he lost to Vanderbilt, GaTech, Coach Teef, and blown TF by Ole Miss last year.

Georgia is pretty **** good. They belong in the top 10 as of today. Long way to go still, but they have earned their spot. Especially considering they lost their QB.

Just because MR is the head coach now doesn't mean you become blind to how good they currently are playing. If you think they are overrated then you surely must think Miami is too.

Smart is legit! And UGA is gonna be a problem.

The earlier Dabo reference is on point. I remember when Miami boards talked about how terrible Dabo was going to be at Clemson, now he's a top 3-5 coach in the sport.

UGA is being held back by QB play. Fromm gets lazy, and doesn't wait for plays to develop. But he's a good leader and appears to be a better athlete than Eason.

Cats on this board would have killed for Tom Herman ... Smart is every bit the coach Herman is, IMO. That UGA D is filthy! And they've got the best 3-deep at running back in the country, with Chubb, Michel, and Swift.

I didn't forget. I also remember Saban going something like 6-6 in his first year and Dabo going something like 6-7 in his 2ND year, but I could be mistaken. It's why coaches are given 3-4 years, you know, because they're not completely judged off their first year.... kinda like I hope our coach isn't judged off of his first year

I’ve watched Georgia play a few times this year. Their defense is elite and well-coached. You know a good defense when it jumps off the screen.

That’s my point: a lot of bad football is being played in college football and while the SEC is bad, the ACC this year, is worse. “Good” is relative.

- as bad as LSU is they beat Syracuse
- as horrible as Tennessee is they beat GA Tech and GA Tech may finish 3rd in the Coastal.
- teams like Pitt and UNC (and let’s face it, FSU) helped hold up the conference last year and they’re lucky to finish above .500

When you remove Alabama from the equation...Auburn, UGA, UF, S Car, Tx A&M, Miss St and Kentucky can whoop all but four teams in the ACC (Clemson, VT, Miami, and Louisville) every weekend. Because that’s what the comparison is between, the SEC and the ACC, this year. As bad as AR is they would also beat all of the remaining ACC teams ALMOST every weekend. Vandy is better than most of the teams below the ACC 4 and so is lowly Tennessee. I don’t think it’s a stretch to include Ole Miss in that group either. Well maybe a stretch, but whatever... Missouri is the only SEC team that wouldn’t consistently beat the remaining ACC teams, IMO.

If Louisville played an SEC East schedule they wouldn’t go top 5; VT...at best 2nd, likely 3rd or the 4th.

Clemson is the only ACC team that would consistently whoop SEC teams. Miami would be in a dogfight every weekend with a last second win.

SEC clearly better (sarcasm). Ask yourself this question:

Take Bama out of the SEC equation. Take Clemson out of the ACC equation. Take Ohio St. out of the Big 10, Oklahoma out of the Big 12, and Washington out of the Pac 12; who has the better conference. You could make the argument that the SEC has the worst conference. Bama's probably the best team in the country, that doesn't make the conference as a whole better though.
