Now this is more plausible. SEC loves to hire coaches with conference experience. Smart will be a head coach in the SEC next year. Most school realize he's the best available coordinator and the time is right.

I was always surprised that his name rarely came up over the past couple years. He's been ready for a couple years now. Not even a small gig before this? Something was weird to me.

Iirc he's turned down interviews and job offers

His reasoning is that he never got that right job he wanted, He's been offered the Vandy job before but turned it down and like Kyle said he turns down interviews.

I feel like smart is going to be a good one but we can't take a chance on a guy with no head coaching experience.
