It won't be UNC because they aren't what they were last year and they have a porous D.

But NC State and Pitt will oblige. Those are 24-point losses or more. Book it.

You're right, but so is OP. They will try to spin, but things were, are, and will be so ugly that it won't work.

Conspiracy theorist in me believes this would've been announced the Friday after Virginia, had Miami won that game—feeling good about the win and Van Dyke's second half rally—but once UM slipped to 2-3 going into the bye week, everything went dark until Monday of this week; official news it'll be a freshman out there for North Carolina and North Carolina State these next two weeks—subliminally telling folks not to expect much, without the heart and soul of the transfer quarterback under center.


All this in effort to stave off an in-season firing—as it's not Dead Manny Walking's fault that these injuries happened—and if they can salvage 6-6 and make a bowl, they'll get healthy in the off-season, try to land another solid class and will get 'em in 2022!

On a macro-level Miami's only hope (for the fan base and state of the program) is that the Canes take a few colossal beatings at the hands of the Tar Heels and Wolfpack—the type of losses that can't be blamed on a play here or there, an injury or a few unlucky bounces.

Miami needs to get wrecked over the next few weeks so the heat get turned up proper. The ****block-At-Hard-Rock was a good start; a comeback falling short, with a thud—and the national / local spotlight has been on the program since the ESPN callout after the Michigan State loss—but it needs to pile-on from here, not let up.

If the Canes are 2-5 in ugly fashion, Sunday October 24th could be be all she wrote for Diaz.

IMO, there is nothing coincidental about both injuries being released today.

This was planned & hashed out as they try to save themselves from the Grim Reaper. It’s 100% excuse mode. It’s 100% planned just the way the press releases, etc were.
 
Miami isn't going to a bowl game. They only have 3 wins in them MAX the rest of the season and although I think they will beat FSU, that isn't a lock. Duke isn't a lock. GT isn't a lock. Miami could very well only win 2 games this season.

GT, FSU, Duke & a game they aren’t supposed to win between the other remaining games.

It’s football. Any given Saturday or Sunday as nothing is predetermined due to injuries, etc.
 
Diaz already using sly remarks about injuries and how it's effecting the team .. that's the excuse he's going to use to save try and save his job. Well i lost my starting QB and RB and etc... Blah blah

King wasn't even supposed to be here this season. It was pure chance due to Covid AND the injury. So Diaz should have had to send Van Dyke out there anyway. If King decides not to come back this season was Manny supposed to get a pass because the next QB in line couldn't win games? That's literally what happens in college football to every single team.
 
On our remaining sch:

There are a couple teams capabale of hanging 40+ on us.

And all the remaining teams can drop 30+ on us.

Manny won’t make it out of this season I assure you.

Even with a big game and tons of optimism manny couldn’t get these motivated to play.

You really think they are going to show up for 6 more games in a dead season ready to compete?

These takes are so f'n dumb. The only scenario where this would even make a little sense would be if Van Dyke just sh*ts the bed Kirby Freeman style AND the D and STs play lights out and we lose multiple games on Van Dyke's back. Since that's not gonna happen, what the **** are you talking about?
 
Manny does not develope players as evidenced on the defensive side by multiple players
