King, Couch, Phillips

Nesta Silvera plays hard every game as well. Very active and influential on that DL. That LT of Va Tech deemed Roche useless almost...though they had him spying
Nesta doesn’t deserve to be mentioned in this thread with those 3. I get that DTs don’t always show up on the stat sheet but we play a 1 GAP attack style not a 2 gap. I know you know that but Nesta only flashes a few plays a game. He does hustle his *** off.
On defense, Couch and Phillips copmpletely seperated themselves.

Agreed. Him and Boregales. That’s what made Manny’s fake FG call so horrible.

Btw, If you’re not going to go for it, kick the ******* FG
I agree if you’re going to go for it leave the offense on the field and not take a chance on getting you’re second most important piece of the team hurt..idiot decision

Going into this season, I was worried about our Striker play with Finley leaving. Gil is holding that spot down. Kid is playing his *** off.

Looked real good today.

King
Phillips
Couch
Frierson
Hedley

They the MVPs.

idk what Lashlee was doing today. He is getting an F for this assignment. Turned in some slop he wrote up during homeroom.

Gotta include Borregales. He can be easy to overlook because he’s so automatic, but we don’t win either of the last two without him making every kick he attempts.

Guy is straight 💰. Honestly I just assume the 3 every time. What a luxury.

Blame Manny... He slowed play Couch, and now he's dropping Burns. Another ball hawk. Its the scheme. It prioritizes TFL, Sacks, and etc over INTS. Hence why we play 10yrds off the receiver. They did make adjustments today and play press man, but we need that every down honestly. This isn't a zone team or a prevent defense type team. Press Man and Blitz. Force the QB to make quick decisions.
The scheme designed for the most takeaways in the country since the Chain??

Our turnovers are down this year... we’ve also dropped a solid 4 INT in the last two weeks alone...

We don’t have an RJ or Willis in the middle who constantly cause havoc. Those two were responsible for so many turnovers .

So when players play well, it's not on the coaching... But when they don't do well its on the coaches...

Jesus, bless your heart
This is so true. This argument has become like politics and just like politics, the answer is nuanced. Baker dialed up some great blitzes today. The players failed to execute on way too many plays. But some of Bakers calls were head scratchers.

It feels like Ivey and Blades are coached to not turn their heads
But that's not the case if Couch turns his head. It's just they are unable to because they aren't confident running full speed like that. They feel they are to slow and if they turn they will be slower and get beat....so they go for timing and tackling which isn't good at all. It's on them they aren't that good...I mean it is what it is...this is why Rumph needs to be fired asap we need studs at CB.
