Kiffin still on the table? (if we want him)

Miami’s people asked Slater to do this in exchange for a Consideration at a future date.

It's smart business. Buyout stayed the same, but he set the floor for his price for any bidders.
He had the leverage once the offer was made. Time to admit he took the deal because he wanted to. Because he didn’t want to be at Miami or they didn’t want him. It’s over man.

Remove us from the equation. You guys are simply not paying attention if you think Joey Freshwater putting pen to paper on an "extension" at Ol' Brownwater U (that magically didn't increase his buyout) means he's committed to staying there one minute longer than his options allow.

I know UM didn't want him (allegedly some on the BOT liked him as a backup option to Mario though) . I'm just saying new deals don't mean a coach won't leave, it just means the school has to pay them more money. Cristobals buyout went down from his first deal, although his salary went up. My understanding is Kiffins buyout stayed the same, so nothing is different today then yesterday. He still wants the UM job, but he's not going to f#ck himself out of an extra 3 million dollars per year while waiting on another offer. He didn't suddenly become a guy who likes **** colored lakes in small hick towns.

I don’t know what his mentality is as far as leaving or staying there now.

But I know one thing: he just big-timed Ole ****.

I mean he big-timed them the same way he probably big-****ed that honey.

The only thing this tells me, is he had ALL the leverage with Ole ****, and they just basically said yes to his most important part of his contract. That is, make it easy for him to leave his self-described brown water shlt-hole whenever he wants.

Ole **** just bent over and spread their cheeks and let him have his way.

The trend is for schools to push big money buyout penalties in exchange for big salaries. Lane didn’t have to give up anything.

I’m never so sure about who wants what job. In the end, I just hope we don’t end up with a sad option 3.

For the "We only want people who want to be at Miami" Crowd. This guy is literally begging for the gig.

They both have the same agent. He is hedging his bets one way or the other....
I am sure they both are aware of the possibilities for each other. Mario decides to go to CG , you will see Lane train enroute to Oregon... quite possibly vice versa. Mario decides to stay, you will see him push Lane to CG.

Kiffin is like Andy Reid. He knows the offense and probably calls Ole Miss plays anyway. I am not concerned one bit about who is “OC” is as it’s his offense.

He wants this. Put his cards on the table last night. I think if we matched 7.5 he would come.
