Key veterans wanted Heaps

Crowder is actually a pretty bright guy.

This for real? The guy is dumb, was at a frat party where he threw a keg of the second balcony at someone.

Funny that the guy calling someone dumb can take one action someone does and now apply he is dumb. Just because you do something stupid does not mean you are stupid. If you are that simple minded you may want to focus on your on intelligence. I never said Channing isn't crazy, I said he is a pretty bright guy. I watch mostly every Dolphin game with the guy and have had conversations with him on mostly every topic out there. He is always telling stories of all the stupid things he did in college(10 years ago) and how he was an idiot then and how much he regrets it.

Yep. A real MENSA member on top of being a Canes "insider":

Asked what the Anne Frank reference meant, Crowder said "Who was that? Is that the blind girl? Helen Keller ... I don't know who the f--- Anne Frank is. I'm mad right now. F--- it. I'm not as swift as I usually am.

Franchise and Terd hit the nail on the head in page 1. If he's not a freshman, but the University of Miami QB, then give him a chance to act like one. They coached scared and proved to the team that they're full of ****.

Listen Golden is a canny ****. No one is going to criticize and not say but it was a true Freshman. He knew he couldn't use the cloud anymore so he inserted another excuse. He's not an honest person. Just look at the Pedro St thing. Can't even be honest about that. Dishonest dude

It made no sense to start Kaaya. The dude didn't even come for spring practice. ....think about that for a minute. Learning all that stuff and getting used to college at the same time. Golden hung kid out to dry. Artificial hype to save his ***. We would have won that game with Heaps I feel.

Remember when key veterans wanted Larry Coker as coach, yeah we won a ship that year, but how did the rest of the Coker era turn out after he had to recruit his own talent.

I can't fault the coaches if Kaaya beat Heaps out, but they coached like pure trash and that's the problem.

Coker had some good classes, the issue was not developing and creating a lazy culture...

Yep. I have no doubt that they lost the team that game. I don't think some people realize how bad that loss was. It basically proved that four years of recruiting, hard work by the kids, and learning new systems are all worth ****, because they got dominated by a coach in his first game at a new school missing his two best players and starting a new QB. Worse yet, they coached scared and that flows down to all the players. The message they sent was "this new QB can't do anything, so you might as well forget about winning this game." No Miami Hurricane should ever have that attitude. I'm so sick of this pathetic, scared, timid, football.

So, Golden hung the kid out to dry in order to save his ***? Makes no sense.

Of course they wanted Heaps. The day you announce your starting a true frosh we almost guaranteed a loss to Louisville. These guys here for there last season don't want a true frosh as the qb.

Bull****, we lost to Louisville because our coaches called plays scared and didn't let the true freshman run the ****ing offense.

Sorry but we lost because we are starting a true frosh at qb. Golden isn't a good enough coach nor has a built a good enough team to overcome playing a true freshman in game 1 on the road against a decent program. Even if he runs the offense he still probably makes to many mistakes to win the game. Trust me I'm not making an excuse for Foldens fat *** because we shouldn't be in this spot in the first place.

So what you're saying is game plan had nothing to do with it?

In the way the loss looked yes it did but I think we lose the game even if we opened up the offense.

I couldn't disagree more. They were stacking 9-10 guys in the box because we were in 2 te sets showing obvious runs.

Put Waters, Coley, Dorsett, and Berrios on the field and tell me they stack the box the same way. In a way you almost create running lanes because they have to respect the speed on the perimeter and then Duke has probably has another 50 yds.

Yeah it makes a lot of sense. It lowers expectations when u have a true freshman as opposed to a 5th year Sr. U don't need glasses to see that

Coker had good classes on paper because that's how he recruited.

At least he had some solid defenses. There were a couple of years there where we were losing giving up only 2 td's per game.

That is if you call getting punched in the gut better than getting curb stomped. smh.

Sooo much talent wasted on the def side of the ball in those years.

Werent you rah rahing the Kaaya choice along with most of this board? Odd it's now being spun as a conspiracy theory of convenience. This staff has been exposed as garbage but why be hypocrite when you have better arguments in your favor?

I assumed Kaaya was a QB, knew Heaps was not, and was happy Kaaya got the job.

We have NO, NADA, NIET, NEIN QBs now or in the near future.

Yep. I was wrong. Figured Folden would NOT play Kaaya this year, as an excuse "Wait till 2015 with Kaaya".

Dude is even more evil than I imagined. He played Kaaya so he has the "freshman QB" excuse, then the "Williams is hurt" excuse, then the "Olsen in 2015" excuse. Smart.

No QB would have won with that play calling period. I doubt the veterans were upset with the call for Kaaya like any rational person wanted someone with more experience and give Kaaya a chance to learn. No more no less.

Wonder if Olsen can work himself into the equation now that his suspension is over. He's off the weed aint he?

Per Kup and Crowder via UM insiders. Way to lose the team ******

Ok then....not really great options...either

1.) the OL intentionally sucked balls in a strike against the coaching staff and threw a freshman under the bus just because he was chosen, or;

2.) the coaching and play calling was as atrocious as it appeared, which likely means a less mobile and shorter Heaps would have been mauled even worse....

I really don't like either option....

UM

Here is the paradox nobody is getting: Many fans (me included) roundly criticise this coaching staff for serial ineptness, yet the majority are willing to trust THEIR judgement as to which QB to start! Starting a True Freshman QB who wasn't even here in the spring? Sorry, do we KNOW Heaps is inferior? Are you willing to trust Golden and the coach who recruited Kaaya (Coley) to be unbiased evaluators?

Think through this people!

We've seen Heaps on the field before. The results would not have been any different than Kaaya Monday night. The only reason to not play Kaaya is to keep his shirt.

Bigger question is why would any qb come to the U for 4 years with crap OC, no qb coach, and terrible line play?
