Maybe heaps can block and call plays too
Teams lose faith and trust in a HC when they know he's full of ****. Al carried on before the game about how ready Kaaya was and how confident everyone was and how we were going to punish them with the pass if they stacked the box. Then, it was completely obvious none of that was true once the game started.
He's full of ****, and they know he speaks with a forked tongue. He puffed everyone up on how we were going to run a dangerous high octane offense with Kaaya, and then he turtled up like a fat pu$$y and made it impossible for the offense to succeed.
If you start a freshman over a 5th year guy, then you better run the full offense with him. If you don't, then all those playmakers on offense feel like you cheated them and sold them a box of diarrhea.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Who gives a **** who they support? In every QB competition across the country, there is going to be some kind of division on the matter. Too ****ing bad.
When it comes to blows is when the people making the decision show such intolerable ineptitude that it just ****es everyone off. I'm sure if the coaches said "hey guys, we are going to start Kaaya and call as many play options as Madden 93......" then I'm sure the backlash would have been heated.
The first paragraph I dont agree with. Contrary to what is said on here..the only people who actually REALLY know what is going on is the players/coaches. Yeah Dmoney and a few other guys saw a few practices but these players know whats up. Maybe they knew that if Kaaya was going to be the QB that they were going to shrink the playbook. These players know what Kaaya can and cant do. Im not saying Heaps would have been any better and im definitely not blaming Kaaya, but i will be damned to play out the rest of the season with the playbook we used on Monday night just because we want to see Kaaya play. If thats the case, then f it, go with Heaps/Williams and see whats up..
And players having the support of the QB is a pretty big deal if you ask me. If they know the kids not ready.....and the coach sticks him out there anyway.......
Of course they wanted Heaps. The day you announce your starting a true frosh we almost guaranteed a loss to Louisville. These guys here for there last season don't want a true frosh as the qb.
Bull****, we lost to Louisville because our coaches called plays scared and didn't let the true freshman run the ****ing offense.
Sorry but we lost because we are starting a true frosh at qb. Golden isn't a good enough coach nor has a built a good enough team to overcome playing a true freshman in game 1 on the road against a decent program. Even if he runs the offense he still probably makes to many mistakes to win the game. Trust me I'm not making an excuse for Foldens fat *** because we shouldn't be in this spot in the first place.
So what you're saying is game plan had nothing to do with it?

Well, true or not, they're talking now about divisions in the team and Al being close to losing the team.
lolMaybe heaps can block and call plays too
Heaps wouldn't need to block, and probably could call plays. Or at least execute an audible. Kaaya has the tools, and made some of the right calls, he just couldn't execute. That was part play calling, and part poor protection by the OL. It was also part being a True Frosh. The game is just too fast for him at this point. He might SEE what he needs to see, but in the time it takes him to go through his reads and progressions, he's getting clobbered, because he just doesn't have the "college" timing down yet. Once he does, he will be fine. But that is why a True Frosh, looks off a wide open receiver, and throws into double coverage, SEVERAL times.
Maybe Heaps doesn't have that panic, has more of the timing, and sees the wide open receiver and throws the easy pass.
Heaps could suck donkey d*ck, but a 5th year senior with that many starts, SHOULD be at least minimally serviceable, and should be able to execute an offense better than what we saw at UL.

Valid. What I don't understand about Golden's decision to start Kaaya is that he is risk averse, as demonstrated by most of his choices and actions regarding the team. So, why start a true freshman QB but micro manage him with the poor, insipid play calling? And how would it be OK to throw Kaaya into the fire but actually come out and say that Darling and McDermott did not start because he did not want to subject them to that pressure? Golden is on shaky ground because credibility as to being truthful is the main currency a coach has with his team, the admin, local coaches, recruits, etc. If he comes to be perceived by the majority of people as being disingenuous, it will be time to find another career, not just another school.

Crowder is actually a pretty bright guy.
This for real? The guy is dumb, was at a frat party where he threw a keg of the second balcony at someone.
