That's a good move for Smith. I wish him the best of luck
Agreed. Is it an isolated occurrence or a habitual problem? Only time will tell. I can live with the former. The latter is a death sentence.I’m fine with cutting dead weight and/or upgrading every chance we can.
BUT…….let’s be serious right now. This is a bad look for Mario. He built this staff. This wasn’t a situation where coordinators brought their guys like Manny with Banda/Patke, or Enos with Butch Barry. No. Mario personally handpicked all these guys. After year 1, the OC, the 2 co-DCs, the RB coach, and QB coach are all gone…..with rumors of the DB coach being wildly unpopular and on his way out as well. That's already 50% of your handpicked staff with another guy pending. That’s bad optics.....and ultimately, it hampers the ability for the kids/coaches to gel with one another.
So......some of the same people that were complaining about the possibility that Mario was not going to allow the new OC to pick his assistants......are now complaining about the RB coach leaving the same day the new OC is hired.
I will take change and progress over complacency and stubbornness all day long. Most on here assumed Mario would remain loyal to “bro ball” or whatever else the pundits like to call it. Personally speaking, I am happy he is making these changes as it shows his willingness to adapt and cut bait with dead weight, even if it casts doubt on his ability to hire a cohesive staff.agreed in part. you know what's worse? not making an overhauling change. remember when they changed the coke formula after x millions of dollars in investment and marketing campaigns? they pulled the plug quickly. well, mario hasn't moved AS quickly but i have no problem with the overhaul considering the atrocity of last season.
You act surprised. This is CIS - where irony lives on forever and where no matter what a coach does some will find fault.So......some of the same people that were complaining about the possibility that Mario was not going to allow the new OC to pick his assistants......are now complaining about the RB coach leaving the same day the new OC is hired.
When the OC and/or DC are replaced its not unusual to have the majority of position coaches under them replaced as well. New schemes, position coaches that would be worth keeping leave because they were passed over for the coordinator position, plus the Coordinators want to hire their own position coaches. Not sure why some are claiming this turnover is a "bad look." Its the domino effect that is expected when new coordinators are hired. The optics of this are important. If you're going to completely blow up your staff after year 1, this is the way it has to go. Are guys like Addae, Field and Salave'a safe or are they looking for soft landings as well?
Can’t answer for him but my guess is he went for the slam dunks on paper and the shiny names.Soooooo why did Mario hire them in the first place? This ain’t his first rodeo.

Good move for both. He earned his paycheck here. No hard feelings. Sometimes it just doesn’t work. That's a good move for Smith. I wish him the best of luck

She’s a gator I think.I know she’s a national personality for ESPN, but I’ve never seen her post very much about Miami personnel moves in the past, and I’m just scratching my head about what kind of sources she has developed where she could glean the information that only Mirabal is going to be left. I mean it’s possible, but like I said, I just don’t know if she has that kind of sourced information.
100% reptilian, belly crawlin, jorts-wearin slimeball.She’s a gator I think.

IMO his recruiting is a tier or so below Hartley. Until this last haul or so of recruiting he did not carry his weight prior.About time.
He never should’ve be on the field in the first place.
