Is there any chance that he is our **** Winston or Johnny Handcock? Continuing the trend of a Rs Fr QB in the Heisman hunt.

The way you post the question "is there any chance" can only allow one answer at this date.

I get the feeling I could make some money in here betting on Olsen not winning the job next year.

Any takers?

While he may very well end up a great QB, he will never be a huge running threat that they both are. Kevin is a pro style QB that if given protection will pick teams apart and smart enough to use check-downs and take what is given.

If he was flashing that much talent in practice, we'd have heard about it, no? There would be rumblings, etc. I don't think he has that type of upside, based on what I've seen, which is admittedly limited.

I guess we should just cut him then, right?

Winston was being hype up during practice when he was a freshman. Olsen has had coach Golden call him out. I hope but I think he will behind Williams, sadly.

Knowing Golden with his psychology, how do you know Olsen isn't tearing it up in practice and Coach is just keeping him grounded so his head doesn't swell up before he gets his chance?

Is that what I said? The thread is about whether he can breakout like Winston and Manziel, the former who looks like a ******* #1 overall pick and is a Heisman contender and the latter who actually won the Heisman and is likely a first-rounder. My point is that if he was that level, or had that type of ceiling, we'd be hearing big things about him in practice.

He can be, he just has to become and student to the game and work his butt off just like Jameis. From a talent stand point Olsen will be our best QB prospect from years to come. He has to make the leap next year because we are only going to get 3 out of him because he will be joining his bro in the NFL.

Ummm, you are correct on Johnny but Winston is not a scrambler whatsoever. He is a legit pocket passer. In fact Olsen is as big of a running threat if not bigger than Winston.

**** Winston is an overrated Runner. Kurt even said that during the telecast that Winston is not a guy who is going to beat you with his legs. He uses his feet to get away from pressure to throw. When i watched Olsen's tape I saw similar mobility. According to ESPN recruiting Olsen is considered to be Athletic for a pocket passer.

his game will clearly be accuracy and precision from the pocket, and not running wild like Johnny. I just curious if the board thinks he will make that jump and be a 68%+ completion passer.

For those of you who did not notice, Olsen is now on the travel squad. He is as of now our third QB. He is progressing nicely after Golden lit a fire under that ***.

Did notice him at the UNC game.

Can he? Absolutely. Will he? Not likely. Very different player from those referenced and from what it looks like, all signs point to Ryan being the starter next year.

Correct, he was sending in the plays. Not Ryan Williams.
