Just saw yesterday that he's the grandson of the former heavyweight champ and son of the former NFL player & current NFL assistant coach.

Has this ever been mentioned before? Why didn't I know this?

And why does he possess so much more girth than his dad and his dad's dad?

We have been trying to keep this a secret the whole time so he doesn't feel the pressure of living up to the family legacy.

He's actually George Foreman's son.
Apparently George ran out of names to give his sons.

Bruh. Ken Norton the boxer was 6'3 and a boxer in the arguably greatest era of boxers of all time. The guy was probably running 10 miles a day and doing crazy amount of pushups/pullups/even more cardio. Plus those old school boxers used to spar like 15-20 rounds at a time multiple times a week. Pacquiao eats like 12k cals a day because he burns up so many now imagine a 6'3 guy who had to train for 15 rounds and didnt know how to train like the guys do today. I know alot of those guys used to run in boots. Boxers didnt lift weights back then and had no idea how to eat. If you watch Angelo Dundees Secrets of boxing(this is Alis trainer and many other champions, many consider him the best of all time) he was saying lifting weights makes you slow. Now we know thats not true, but thats what the old school guys believed. If that MF ate and trained like a DL he would have been massive too.

Ah, Ken Norton. The one guy who almost beat Ali twice other than Frazier (and should have). Trained in Joe Fraziers camp.

One of my all time favs. A USMC Vietnam Veteran, and was reputed to be a **** good gentleman.

Dont know if Kendrick is related, but if has a tenth of the guile his granddad had, he'll explode guys in the 4th quarter. :)

Glad people still remember Ken.

One of my favorites too; I thought he would give my hometown hero Gerry Cooney a humbling experience...Gerry knocked him out and the stupid hype train was rolling, only to wreck against the always underated Larry Holmes. Ken Norton was class and deserved a better ending to his career.

I was an Ali fan but Norton won that 3rd fight.
I felt bad for the guy.
Don't know what the judges, or Cosell, were watching.

Well, the NFL needs to correct their player bio on their site, then.

It says this:
"Norton is the son of newly-hired Oakland defensive coordinator Ken Norton, and the grandson of the late former heavyweight champion, Ken Norton, Senior. Their athleticism and fight have passed down to Kendrick, an athletic widebody who earned honorable mention All-ACC honors in 2017."

Ken Norton Jr's actual son (Kenny III) is a limited skill CB for Azusa Pacific.

Our Ken(drick) Norton is the son of famed actor Edward Norton. You might remember him from American History X or The Incredible Hulk.

The whole Bio is wrong as Norton is now back with the Seahawks. Plus his name is Kennith not Kendrick so wouldn't be the III.

ddann, these questions should be added to the list that Marvin Gaye asked in "Too busy thinking about my Baby" LOL

Ali actually said that Norton was the toughest fighter he ever faced in one of his autobiographies IIRC. Norton broke Ali's jaw in one of the fights that i think ALi lost. He took it the distance IIRC, but had to duck and move away from Norton.
