100% agree with needing an OC. There's a few positions that need to be reevaluated.

This is why the Patke hire was such bullsht. We now have 2 coaches coaching 3 linebacker positions.

We needed an offensive coordinator. We got Patke.

Our special teams have been one of the worst units IN THE NATION since last season. We needed a special teams coach. We got Patke.

Our O-line is a disaster. Searels is responsible for recruiting, coaching & naming FIVE STARTERS. Maybe a full-time offensive coordinator could've split the job with Searels (since QB coach is off limits) & coached tackles or interior linemen. But we got Patke.

Its not even a knock on Patke. Its just another example of Richt needing to do one thing with his staff & doing the opposite.

Jon needs to be relieved of his coaching duties. He wanted his son to get his foot in the door. I get that. Mission accomplished. QB coach is on his resume. Richt doesn't have to fire him. He just needs to move him away from QB coach.

Well said. And as I said earlier, I agree completely in that it's time for Mark to get his kid a job again in the NFL. Heyyyy....I was the QB coach at Miami. Look, it says it right here on my resume. OK kid, you can make copies as a quality control assistant in the NFL. Congrats.

And that opens the door to hire someone who can actually gameplan and call plays. It's time. Year 3, he needs to realize this isn't working. And call Mark Richt a lot of things, but he's not unintelligent. He knows better than anyone this isn't working. But he's not firing his kid and he's not firing Thomas Brown. Having his kid voluntarily leave for what looks like a step up, now that's a different story.......

I guess we have different interpretations of the definition of the word "unintelligent".

Absolutely agree & it worries the **** out of me. If he wants to hire an OC it opens the door to other issues. Someone would have to go. We need an on field opening. Who goes? Dugans, Hartley & Brown are out. Patke & Banda are Diaz guys. We have to have a defensive line coach. So Simpson is out. Offensive line coach & offense coordinator is possible but ****. O-line needs an O-line only coach. Hartley has been a great TE coach. But we've seen what happened with his special teams. Probably shouldn't mix offensive line & offensive coordinator.

So we're down to Jon & Rumph. I'm worried it would be Rumph because he could just name Banda secondary coach!

And would a full time OC being willing to split the title with coach Brown? If not he's gonna have to fire one coach & strip one of our "cannot lose him" coaches of his title!

You're spinning your wheels for no reason. The answer is Jon. Fredo is the one who has to go. Miami has the #1 defense in the country. Assuming Manny stays (huge assumption), you're not firing someone on your defensive staff when you're #1 in the country. So Jon is the one who has to do. And you leave Brown's title/salary exactly where it is. He's the Co-offensive coordinator/Running Backs coach. You bring in a Co-Offensive coordinator/QB coach with the understanding that he'll be calling plays and gameplanning with Thomas Brown. Simple.

Once again I agree with everything u just said. But I'd be stunned if he got rid of Jon. Lol Its one of those.. It makes too much sense to actually happen kinda things.

His offenses were average much better than this ish. His issue was defense.

How do we go from the worst defensive mind to the worst offensive mind back to back it’s gotta be a first in cfb
Couldn’t agree enough .. put Golden’s offense and Diaz defense together you got a cfb contender with our talent

He doesn't have to "get rid" of him. He has to get him another job so it looks like Fredo is upgrading.
