Kelvin Harris says “a couple” of coaches have turned down OC position

I do think it was a mistake waiting until after the bowl game to move on from Enos. Should have happened the day after Duke. Some programs have already made moves. I will say that this guy knows nothing though. Enos was just fired yesterday, have we even interviewed any yet? How would we have interviewed and offered multiple targets already lol

Said this yesterday...before you fire all the coaches you better make sure you have somebody to take their place...

We are not going to get a top notch OC to leave a secure job to come to this dumpster fire and work for a guy that is probably a dead man walking..

Even if Manny finds some mid range guy to come here then he will have to find 3-4 more guys willing to leave a secure job to come here to fill his staff. These guys will also be guys that aren’t getting a lot of calls for promotions.

Enos HAD to go no doubt but thinking we are gonna have top notch OC fighting to get this job is ludicrous. The onetime luster of coaching at Miami

Hope I’m wrong.Dont think I am.

I believe it. I have a real hard time seeing any OC we'd want who would want to come here. For as many people on this board that realize how awful Manuelo has been, I don't think people are realizing how working for him is being perceived as a career risk. He's not my first pick by any stretch but someone like Rich Rod, who has some stink on him still, is probably the best we can hope for.

I defended Diaz earlier in the season. I thought we would see improvements throughout. It regressed. He is not the guy. The whole thing is rotten and the basis of it is not lack of talent. Players are dying to leave and get drafted 6th round. We cant afford this anymore. We are on life support with the machine beep speeding up.

I think we have a shot to land a decent option - it will be hard for anyone to do anything but dramatically improve from where we were at this past season. A dramatic turnaround at such a high profile school could land someone as a HC option elsewhere in twelve months. Also, we still have the access to an incredible amount of skill player talent, including a young, incoming quarterback, that may make our OL trouble seem less problematic for a creative mind.

Who knows...but fingers crossed.

There’s zero risk in firing our offensive coaches, as it can’t get worse on that side. You could hire a HS staff and get better results than this year.

If they are offering the same amount that they gave enos. I find it hard that OC's are turning down Miami. Coaches have big egos , they think they smart enough to fix anything.

It is kind of a no lose situation. First the offense is almost guaranteed to improve. Second if Manny gets fired you have the cover of saying to were caught in the wash. But can still point to improving the offense

I wouldn't want to come here unless I was an up-and-comer or offered a ton of money with absolute freedom for two reasons:

#1 Manny doesn't know how to run an organization.
-How can a experienced OC put up with this?

#2 Manny's job likely won't last long.

Pay them more they will come.
I don't know man. I think there's huge, huge career risk in working for Manny. I can see guys looking at the situation and saying no thanks. Anyone we'd want would presumably have options that wouldn't require that much of a drop in absolute pay and when you factor in cost of living it might not be that different at all. Working for Miami, at UM, I can see it not being enticing.
