Thank you for making it in it's own thread

Dude struggles with the deep ball and won't beat us deep.

That and Rosier has led game winning drives, I think Bryant vs our defense is more of a story than Rosier vs theirs

*Not saying Rosier is great, certainly not vs Pitt .but people saying we are at a disadvantage at that position I would have to disagree

70+% is pretty glaring on short to intermediate. I wonder how well he and they do on zone blitz recognition vs. M2M. Gonna have to be smart and pick our times to bring pressure. I hope we don't try it too much. Make him make the throws and tackle. When we get to him though we have to get him to the ground. I fear the big gash play if we get home and don't complete the tackle.

This would be a great time for our defense to knock Bryant out of the game. Our DL should be as ****ed off as Rosier was after the Pitt game

Great stuff. Too many posters don’t want to look deeper, too complicated. They want to hang their comments on raw totals or simple averages, not realizing that it doesn’t tell you enough.

4 - 2 - 5 defense....

This is great and all, but we just finished games where we made UVA’s QB and Pitt’s Freshman QB look like Rodgers and Auburn Cam Newton

Against South Carolina this week he was 9-12 (75%), 134 yards and 2 TDs against the blitz.

14/22 (63.6%), 138 yards, 0 TD and 1 INT when not blitzed.

Pretty clear answer here.

Yes more often that not mobile QBs have hurt us when we blitz, it always seems our spy is a step too slow

Kinda sure every QB numbers would break down similar. We need to stay in our rushing lanes and and stop stunting on the DL. One of the most annoying thing to me

Thanks for the answer and analysis. Make the man make throws, tackle, and get pressure with the front 4. Good on Good here and straight up Canes football!

exactly. these dudes don't learn. they love their advanced metrics. they should know all that goes out the window when your QB faces us

Rosier and Bryant are actually pretty similar Imo. We should definitely play coverage against him and force him to throw. At this point though I think I know what our defense brings. The wild card is our running game. Rosier was average v both ND and VT and those games were blow outs. If we can't run the ball, nor very likely we win.

Richt should use a heavy dose of Deejay Dallas in the wildcat. Auburn runs the ball pretty good with Kerryon Johnson from it and he barely throws. We did fairly well v VT with it. Then they threw it away. Which is stupid as ****. Deejay Dallas was a QB last season. We can catch Clemson with it.

Logan Whiteside had his 2nd worst game of the year against us
Daniel Jones had his 3rd worst game of the year against us
TaQuon Marshall had his worst game of the year against us
Eric Dungey had his worst game of the year against us
Nathan Elliott had his worst game of the year against us
Josh Jackson had his worst game of the year against us
Brandon Wimbush had his worst game of the year against us

Easy to cherry pick against metrics when you disregard the entire rest of the season.

"rest of the season" would seem to indicate I was talking about the games other than those originally cited.

Taking two games out of 11 to try and make a point would be cherry picking, which was the point I was making.

Especially when Pickett was only in his second game.

He also was better against VT than he was against Miami.

and he was 0-15 heading into USCe (not sure the stats on that game downfield)

really really struggles in deep accuracy. I know rosier does too, specifically pitt but rosier can stretch the field and let playmakers make plays. I haven't seen bryant have the ability to do that yet
