OJ wasn't playing all that great before injury if i wasn't mistaken?
OJ has been tasked with the most difficult matchups all season. Other guys get nice PFF grades because they’re more protected in our scheme. This has gone on for years here.

OJ is a beast he’s just being asked to do more this season. We need him.

The only one that really got him was Bell at Louisville.

OJ is susceptible to the deep ball. He just doesn’t have long speed like that. Nimrod at USF got him (maybe even twice?). Think a guy at Bethune got him on one too.

Not a good idea against Craver and KC to expect or even ask him to do anything on an island. Their WR3 is fast as well.

I’m sitting in zone, eyes on the QB, and letting Reed throw it to me if I’m a DC. Because he will do it. Also helps you cover his running game.

Yeah just pointing out OJ is the same guy as he was last year just being asked to do a lot more

We have one of the best (if not the best) defenses in the country stopping plays over 40 yards. It just doesn’t happen against us.

Need all hands on deck for A&M for sure

O’Conner/OJ/Lucas/Brown is a **** of a group with Scott up in the air. Thomas and Poyser…

Bain and Mesidor on contain. Heatherman gets too crazy with the spy imo but others don’t agree

****…I wish we played this weekend 🤣

Thanks for the explanation! I get it, they're asking him to do a lot. I just think Heatherman could make sure he's scheming it up, so he doesn't get caught in some big giveaways like he has this year it seems. Just put are fastest DB's on conception and their other fast receiver. I'm not even sure who that would be, who are Miami's Fastest DB's?

It’s gonna be a long week. I’ve already watched every YouTube video, podcast, reaction, etc.

Nothing left to do but marinate and get no work done

Just read all ten pages - Great discussion on various subtopics as usual. Here's what I can add:

If its a turf toe injury, he likely wont be 100% until next spring. Ive had a turf toe injury. Its incredibly painful and takes forever to heal. I suffered through it for about two years before all of the pain was gone.

My thought was to give him one more week to heal and have him for the Ohio State game. Sadly, with turf toe another week or two might not matter. It will only be about how much pain he can handle playing with.

I tagged you in a post on SUNDAY telling you I expect the most badass pump up post ever for next week’s game, and you never responded.

You have been blessed with an extra week to prepare.

Do not disappoint me!

Bro, you're judging a cornerback on one play against USF and another play against Notre Dame? If you use that crazy analysis for every cornerback in history, then who the **** is perfect?

I destroyed my left big toe playing football barefoot in college. Limped for 6 weeks and then did it gain playing basketball a few weeks later. It has never fully recovered. I don’t have “pain” but it has felt like it could be reaggravated easily ever since.

Gotta stay in my lane here for a couple reasons:

1. There’s people here that know wayyyy more than me about defense

2. It’s hard to know what’s happening on plays where we’ve given stuff up without knowing the calls and responsibilities

Speed is a little overrated at the college level. If you clamp with legit technique you don’t need to chase someone

Heatherman impressed me a lot this year by how quickly he got basically an entirely new defense to play together quickly

I’d like to see less long safety blitzing but hard to find anything to complain about with this defense this year

Chris Bell ran a drag route, no cornerback can stop him. He was running underneath the defense. What happened when he lined up outside, 3 target, 3, pass breakup by OJ.

Yeah I didn’t take what he said as a criticism of OJ some of these WRs are just insanely good. wtf are ya gonna do? Think it was more looking at what worked as in what A&M OC is gonna try and do

Overall the lack of big plays against us is super impressive especially with the injuries

I'm just saying if you know you can get him on an island and isolate him, if he misses a re-route or a jam, you can run by him and A&M has receivers capable of that, who are hard to get hands on because they're small and shifty.

I'm not asking him to hold down a side of the field in this game specifically.

I was very harsh after Bell cooked him but the more I watched Chris Bell, it was clear he's just a special WR. True 1st round type (when he was healthy) with size and speed.

No reason to give their WRs chances on 50/50 balls, disguise and change coverages and let Reed try to figure it out
