Lightfoot already has more sacks than Bain during the entire regular seasonLove the kid, but Bain and Mesidor…He was out best player on defense. I can't say he was better than Baby Jesus, but perhaps at times.
That may be true, but Bain dominated games in so many ways that don't show up on the stat sheet. He forced teams to double him, keep in backs and TE to help, he set the edge and compressed it leaving little options for running plays. He made life very difficult for Offensive coordinators.Lightfoot already has more sacks than Bain during the entire regular season

Yes i agree but the point is sack production is actually already better from the DE spot. It'll probably be a lot better when you add all the pass rush DE we have. #3 and #4 probably played too many snaps last year too. Keeping our guys fresh this year is paying dividends.Bain played ND, UF, FSU, and USF | Avg SP+ Offense 39.75Lightfoot already has more sacks than Bain during the entire regular season
Lightfoot has played Clemson, CMU, Stanford and Wake | Avg SP+ Offense 91.5
Lightfoot is balling for sure but against whom?
I don’t know if another school has a better track record of studs immediately replacing studs… on both sides of the ball. Historically. It's not easy to be the guy who comes after the guy.
How fresh will they keep the guys when they play vs. real teams vs 3 Cupcakes and a mid-level P4? Clemson's logo is carrying a lot of weight which is why I look at SP+ vs polls.Yes i agree but the point is sack production is actually already better from the DE spot. Bama during the Saban run has done it in recent memory, not black and white picturesI don’t know if another school has a better track record of studs immediately replacing studs… on both sides of the ball. Historically.
It’s kind of what we do.
I stand corrected… you’re absolutely right!Bama during the Saban run has done it in recent memory, not black and white pictures
can't argue with your point. we will see.How fresh will they keep the guys when they play vs. real teams vs 3 Cupcakes and a mid-level P4? Clemson's logo is carrying a lot of weight which is why I look at SP+ vs polls.
Bain took an OSU OT and drove him into a RB with a one armed TFL. Lightfoot looks like he can do that vs a Clemson freshman but an exp OSU OT? We'll hopefully see!
To be fair in limited snaps Lightfoot flashed big-time in the playoffs see that very same OSU game. How fresh will they keep the guys when they play vs. real teams vs 3 Cupcakes and a mid-level P4? Clemson's logo is carrying a lot of weight which is why I look at SP+ vs polls.

didn't he have the QB pressure on the last play to rush Sayin into the INT?To be fair in limited snaps Lightfoot flashed big-time in the playoffs see that very same OSU game.
Yup. In addition to adding a sack. Plus my boy had one play where he was jamming Smith and then exploded down to the flat to stop their rb for no gain. He balled that gamedidn't he have the QB pressure on the last play to rush Sayin into the INT?
no one said he wasn't a pass rush menace last year. But playing more than a dozen snaps, going game in and game out slammin' hams... much different than coming in on 3rd and long 10 times a gameTo be fair in limited snaps Lightfoot flashed big-time in the playoffs see that very same OSU game.
