2026 Keenyi Pepe 5* OL from IMG commits to USCw

25 commits in May…let’s see if they can hang on to em
Some of USC's early blue-chip commitments in last year's cycle (Justus Terry, Isaiah Gibson) ended up signing with other programs, but IMO, this feels a little different, especially with Pepe being native to the West Coast.

Moreover, last year's cycle was a cautionary tale in how you can't rely on flipping kids. Cristobal isn't going to concede until the ink is dry, but it felt like UM missed on nearly every major flip target in last season's cycle (Pickett, Hanks, Alford, Wilson, etc.).

Again, this isn't a staff that is going to put up the white flag, but this isn't a good spot to be in with a priority target.

I know they got a new GM but what’s gotten into SC recruiting?
nothing they paid for early commits before and it withers down as the season playes outt.
Though this one has a higher chance of sticking because he actually is frrom there...that being said Mario isnt gonna stop recruiting here..see Hayden Lowe. USC put themselves in pole position.

Do we now pivot to Johnnie jones?
should of never been a pivot...but should be all on him regardless to me.

But yea i would focus more on him hes in state. Still be on Pepe and Cantwell but that same prioritization should be on jOnes too.

This is why the Ervin and Cogdon pick ups were smart. We arent in dire need stcrambling at tackle just trying to land the whales

Would take something very serious for him to decommit from USC. Epic fail with this miss.

I am sure I will get the typical, "Mario/Mirabal are the best OL recruiters in the country, so I'll trust them" nonsense. But the facts are they simply aren't even close to it.

Need to overspend on Cantwell now. After being in pole position, we are trailing.

Well then either they are the best eyes for OL Talent or the best developers at the position or a combo of both. Because outside of the 1st year **** show at UM, they've never fielded an OL that wasn't well above average.

Above average is nowhere near the best. And this is about recruiting, which they aren't remotely close to the best. I have already disproven that with ease. The glazing on the OL recruiting needs to stop.

Oh they've been near the best quite a few times in those years too. You haven't disproven a thing.

I don't think there is glazing over OL recruitment…There's glazing over OL production.

Again I'm not worried if some nerd at 247 likes an OL better than Cristobal/Mirabal…Track record speaks for itself.

No, they haven't, literally ever. They have never produced the best OL in the country. Again, stop with the glazing.

And LOL at the nerd comment. Care me to drop all the blue chip OL they have prioritized that they missed on? Seems like they liked those same players that those nerds did.

Once again for the glazers.

Nothing is ever over, but we have a better shot landing Cantwell than we do Pepe.
There’s too many elite OL in play for everyone right now to think some team was gonna clean up in the summer. Oregon started talking **** about landing 4 and now they’re hopeful for 1

Reminds me of the “whale” DL recruiting a bit from 2023

Problem for us is we massively prioritized Cantwell and Pepe. Pepe was the easier target. We can't miss on both.
