At Chatsworth (Calif.) Sierra Canyon’s blowout win over Gardena (Calif.) Serra last weekend, Texas defensive line commit Kasi Currie said one team is still making a run at him: Miami. While a visit to Coral Gables would be a surprise, it’s still telling that the Hurricanes have not given up.

Currie is the body type we need, but extremely raw and likely not ready in 2027 for huge impact. We need big time guys that will be ready next year even if Scott returns. Obviously in a perfect world you get both, but if we have to choose between one or the other, take the experienced ready DT’s all day for 2027.

Nah we need both… plus portal DTs aint been doing **** worth the money they demand. Rather risk it on elite high school recruits.

I heard Mizzou got a pretty good Sophomore DT that has like 5 sacks already. We could hope to get someone like that.

lol true but Simpson ain’t do **** against Ole Miss though… But I’m all for getting a good portal DT just not if we have to choose between that or an elite DT out of high school.

I don’t think Thompson would be expensive. He is going to gt and I don’t know much about their nil but I doubt they are throwing around big money. The biggest issue is would Thompson be ****ed that the staff didn’t see him as a take from the jump?
