I thought we couldnt afford Henderson? ;)
Hendersons recruitment is not about highest bidder. Trust me on that. Now he isn't going anywhere for free, but its more than money for him and his family.
He is a very heavy lean to Texas AM right now and talks a lot with Matthews, but the door is still cracked open for Miami to get him. This visit is huge for him, and we have one thing that the other schools don't, his best friend DeAnthony is with the good guys. They are super tight from MS days and that is a draw for him.
I would still lean against us getting him but it's not 100% closed right now.

I'm just saying they been talking to each other about Texas AM for a while.
I would be absolutely shocked if MM were to flip to us at this point. Despite what DMoney and others are saying, the money was close, but Miami was NOT offering the most. Miami is not promising playing time at LT and that was an issue as well. Plus, MM just never really wanted to go to Miami and was feeling pressured that he was supposed to. I agree with you, we should let him go and move on.
Kaden is his own man, and he will make his own decision. MM or any other recruit is not going to sway him from what he wants.
We just don't prioritize (NIL) the position as much as other spots and I totally understand why and agree with it. QB, both lines and DB are what win games. The other positions can be filled just fine.

People laugh when I said MM wanted to be a day 1 starter at LT. The staff isn't budging. I think Mario wanted MM for the recruiting win, but I know local coaches who think MM is immature and an overrated. Henderson to me is someone who we could really us,he'd be a loss.

I am with you. Dmoney and Pete were acting a while back like this was a slam dunk to get MM and I was here saying it wasn't going to be that way. Things changed big time after he came to spring practice and saw what we do on a daily basis. I'll leave it at that.
And yeah, in talking with ppl around the STA program about MM, I was getting the same vibe about him being "not a great locker-room fit" for Miami but I didn't want to say that on here while we were still pursuing him. He is talented and is not a bad kid, but he is not a day one starter but was looking for day 1 starting money and needs some maturing to do that the other guys in his position group at Miami don't needs to do.

look at his body. He doesn't look college ready. Kind of chubby looking.

You don’t need insiders to tell you Mark Matthews is immature after that hat game he pulled. I think he would love to be a theater geek more than a football player.

There is no way him at 280-285 tops thought he was a day 1 starter here..that is why he is committed to tx am.

Every thing else is just conjecture..no kid will just come out and say it though.

This is one of those rare times where I’m happy a kid made the best decision for him and realized we weren’t a good fit for him. I respect that. That’s okay. Under the Mario era..we won’t be for everyone. And we will absolutely lose recruits because of it and I’m fine with that. We will get ours.

Yes sir. This was prob for the best for both sides. It felt like an arranged marriage where the bride didn't want the husband. Lol
Good luck to the kid and I will never doubt Mario and Mirabal and their ability to get kids that have the tools and body size and develop them into a top 10 OL every year.

I don’t want Matthew’s to flip to us. They can have him. He made his bed he can lay in it. I’d rather have Henderson but I don’t see him coming here. And if he don’t, oh well. We have plenty of kids that want to be here and willing to work hard for this team. Texas A&M will underacheive as usual. If they play us, they will get beat as usual. Elko will be fired sooner than later. Just like Jimbo, all of this money down the drain on recruits
