Kaaya led a comeback down 17-3 and took a lead late in the fourth. Defense screwed that up. Not on him.

He got another chance with plenty of time and failed to deliver................AGAIN!

To help Kaaya, Folden should have called timeout to settle the kids down and to tell Kaaya not let any more passes get batted down.....or roll him out of the pocket.

That is why Folden sucks!

Why is Berrios even in the game at this point? LOL

Should have been the Scott, Waters and Yearby Show.....and then whoever

If we hold Kaaya to the same level as JHarris, i would have to say that Jacory has done more at this same point in their cfb careers.

We're lucky to have Kaaya...as a matter of fact Kaaya is the only reason we don't already have THREE losses this season.

I honestly feel bad for the kid. I'd be willing to bet any amount of money that if Marty Mcfly showed up with his flux capacitor and gave this kid a "do over" he would have gone somewhere else out of high school...and I can't say I blame him.

It's pretty obvious the last defense/argument that the Golden supporters are busting out is to now attack the QB...who mind you is doing everything he is doing IN SPITE of the fact we have one of the worst OC's and overall coaching staffs in the country.

Jacory Harris threw for 386 against a much better FSU defense in 2009 and actually won the game.

The number of yards you throw for makes you great? How about leading a comeback win, winning a big game or something like that. I guess that doesn;t matter anymore. You are great because every says you are.

He just threw for almost 400 against a top defense that was able to drop 8 into coverage and still get past his OLine. Yet we still have fans questioning him.

i would love to hear you explain how FSU's defense of 09 was much better than 2015. the 09 defense gave up 30pts a game, 5.4 per rush, 6.75 per play. Opposing quarterbacks had a 150 passer rating against them and they lost 6 games. what do you got?

furthermore would love to hear of a QB who started off with that record and had great Junior and senior years

If he had Shannon's defense we would win every game

Did you see Shannon's Defense when he was a head coach? They were not that impressive at all. In fact, we haven't had a good Defense since 2005.
2010 defense was good outside of like 2 games. The same for 07. The defense wasn't as spectacular as previous years but they were still good.

Fair enough, some of those years we were "good." But I hold our Defense to a very high standard. I grew up watching a top 10 Defense, every year, dominate games and win us championships. Haven't seen that in a while. I believe Randy was an overrated Defensive coach.

This. That FSU Defense was far from great.

In theory, since Harris and Freeman led a drive to win the game that should make them great. How'd that work out for us?

I can't believe people are killing Kaaya. When was the last time the defense gave him a short field. Kid has to drive 80 yards with a **** o line every **** time. Yall some **** clowns

You can give him props for 400 yards and then make excuses for his OL. Wasn't that same OL on the field when he threw for 400 Yards?

You're right I'm confused. Your qb is supposed to get hit and knocked down once per every three passes he attempts.

That's the way it's supposed to be.......smdh...

Carson Palmer was 11-12 his first two years as a starter then won then heisman his third. Jason Campbell was a dumpster firer for 3 years then went undefeated as a senior. Just two that pop to mind. Sure. There are others.

That's not what I remember from attending the road games at Florida Atlantic and Cincinnati. We had short fields numerous times and Kaaya failed to produce. Second quarter in particular, both games. We kept Florida Atlantic in the game longer than they deserved despite them handing it to us deep in their territory more than once. We failed in the red zone smack in front of me. I watched the TV version a day later and that was a theme from the FOX announcing crew, Miami's failure to fully take advantage of red zone and short fields.

At Cincinnati I knew we were in big trouble. The team took the field in pregame warmups acting like they were on skates and that the game was a mere formality. I mentioned that to fans alongside me. There wasn't any threat of the intensity level from last season's Thursday night road game at Blacksburg.

Consequently every possession was vital. We managed to withstand their early energy and take a narrow lead at 20-17 beyond the middle of the second quarter. Then we stopped them deep and got a short punt. I knew darn well we desperately needed to capitalize, to build a 10 point lead. Kaaya has long since demonstrated he has trouble beyond halftime. The 10 point lead might be fragile but suddenly the math starts to work in our favor.

We ended up with nothing. I forget the specifics but I think we barely missed a deep ball and then were wide with a field goal. Bottom line, we couldn't afford to come up empty. That was the most memorable possession of the game, as I drove back to Louisville that night while reviewing the defeat.

The ABC announcers mentioned last Saturday that the Canes lead the nation in red zone field goal attempts. There's no way a quarterback is spared a chunk of the blame for that type of failure. Kaaya has some nice skills but so far he is overhyped on this forum, and by Canes fans in general. It's increasingly evident we are missing a dependable guy with a wide catch radius like Walford. He bailed out Kaaya numerous times last season. Otherwise those would have been field goal attempts also.

opinion?

kayaa is a flat out stud who is working with a pop warner set of coaches

BTW, somebody mentioned the lack of a premier college quarterback prospect, a top 5 NFL pick. I realize the Pac 12 is all but invisible on the East Coast but Jared Goff of Cal is rated extremely high and all but certain to be picked in that range when he comes out. We were talking about him on the draft forum of a Dolphins site as early as last season. He had major interception trouble at Utah last weekend but that won't impact his overall rating.

Kids get hit every play, no running game, his best wr gets hurt every game, his oc stinks and his hc is awful,,,,,,, but it is on him ---- ugh

Under Kaaya's tenure, you can point to a number of games that ended in losses due to the defense IMO.
- 2014 and 2015 FSU
- 2014 Nebraska
- 2014 UVA
- 2014 Pitt

In contrast, I can really only think of two games, 2014 VaTech and Duke, that the defense was exceptional and was the main reason we were dominant in that game.

As for the offensive scheme... it played a major role in the losses like
- 2014 Louisville (way too conservative against a good team in a hostile environment, 13-31 L)
- 2014 UVA (13 points against them... really?)
- 2014 Bowl game (Play-calling was dull and vanilla...)

Another bad one:
Look at the Time of Possesion stats from last years GT game.
The O didn't do to badly. We had 352 yards, 19 first downs and 8.0 yards per play,
All in only 19 minutes.
The D just couldn't get of the field.

On the exceptional side you left out UNC.
It was 44-6 last year going into the 4th quarter.
I believe they had 110 yards to that point.
