K. Smith taking Gil’s Snaps

Makes me feel a lot better about our LB depth with what people have been saying about Smith.
We can just play more strikers formations.

Is he getting beat or not? Look my comment started because a poster(can't remember who) said that he can cover. I don't know of that to be true. I haven't heard a report that he's blanketing the RB or TE. I'm not at the practices all I know is he's been beat a few times. I'm not saying he can't cover but I sure as **** don't know if he can.

You can leave your smart comments out of it. If you want to have a real convo about it I'm down but if you gonna say my post are dumb or illogical I can't stop you but I'm not trying to engage in negativity.

Now I ask you, have you seen or heard reports of him covering well?

Nothing smart about my comments, u said hes been getting beat in order to try to prove ur statement that u think Frierson can't cover and acting like people don't get beat, Trajan Bandy has gotten beat during the fall camp too, does that mean he can't cover? With that being said there has been reports of him covering well and there is a video of him running side by side to Osborn, he had great coverage in both videos, but one he lost becuase it was a great throw as well as a great catch.

My initial comment was that I don't know if he can cover.

One thing we can all agree on is that Smith is a talent and has a high ceiling. I'm actually a little surprised he isn't being used in a more classic safety mode, where we have a depth issue. With no Bolden so far, I would rather have K Smith there. But Striker is probably an easier transition from High School.
 
I don’t think Smith will take reps from Gils. Frierson might be the most athletic DB we have on the roster.
