J'Vonte Herrod 2014 RB North Cobb, GA a name to remember

In 2014 we have DJ, Edwards, Crawford, and everyone forgets about Walter Tucker. We can live with Yearby and Powell, and I would not waste a scholie on any kind or reach. If you can get a Gus Edwards late, then I would take that risk.

Tucker is nothing more then a filler and special teamer. He has switched between RB and LB about 3 times already.

If we take 1 more back.. It needs to be a stud 205+ Pounder. Our biggest back Gus runs too high

J'Vonte Herrod 2014 RB North Cobb, GA a name to remember, with things not looking murky for UM with Dalvin Cook, this kid could a sleeper to look at along with D'Andre Ferby for UM to offer that last RB scholarship spot to. Herrod is 6'0 220lbs benches 345lb, squats 450lbs, with 37 in vertical and runs a 4.48sec 40yd time. His SR year at North Cobb HS in Georgia he had 124 carries for 1,113 yards (9.1 ypc) & 13 TDs, 15 catches for 214 yards & 2 TDs. These stats are comparable to D'andre Ferby;'s and some would say North Cobb HS plays better competition in Georgia. I think either one would be a good power back late addition for UM to add to the 2014 class. Tennessee and Minnesota seem to be the leading teams for Herrod but they are slow playing him while waiting for higher rated players to pick a school.

Go Canes

Here are J'Vonte Herrod's Complete 2013 Sr Yr Highlights, Ya'll can be the judge.

Great highlights. Good size, speed and great pad level, very hard to take down. Would be the great big back that we need. Would take him all day long, has he any interest in Miami. We need another big power back in this class, with Duke and Yearby both coming off injurys and Gus slow to develop would be a good safe pickup.

Will take a pass as pure running back, but maybe the staff should consider if feel the need to bring in a fullback. Looks thick through the lower body and strong . . . but is he an able and willing blocker? That's a quality HS program and plays good competition. As stated above, Georgia grabbed far bigger prizes early on and GT has tougher admission standards and limited academic majors. This is kid a level above the other in-state schools: Ga Southern, Ga State, Kennesaw St, etc.

Again, will take a pass. Georgia player we need to be looking at is Mike Rodgers - safety/RB from Campbell HS. About 6-foot and 190 . . . real physical and rushed for something like 1,700 yards, but position at the next level is safety. Committed to Central Florida.

This 1st half against U of L is exactly why UM needs a power back that wants to run people over not just try to out run them. With a power back like Ferby or Herrod UM could tight splits bring in a 6 OL with a H-Back and FB then run the power game with 1 WR split out, an slip the TE down the opposite seem for play action. Crawford is a very good Zone back but in a game like the Russel Athletic Bowl UM needs to get low and drive those U of L ******* out of there.

Go canes!

Not a Power back ....Canes needs talented backs

Maybe time for UM's staff to take a look at this young man, with Dalvin Cook going to FSU on Monday Jan6th to start class.

He is leaning strongly toward Minnesota because he can get 25-30 carries a game and they take care of their running backs an keep them warm (cough cough midwest cornfeed farm girls with some pocket money)

Yeah well speaking of Minn players UM is Jeff Jones current Minn commit had a Helluva under Armour game so I as I said before Jerry Kill has an eye for talent, an he wants Herrod Badly to complement Jones.

Anyone pushing this kid has to be a relative or close friend. Not Miami material. People want to describe Tucker as "filler,'' but this kid isnt even in his league.
