Justin Herbert and Mario

he balled there the year before mario had him. which got him into the heisman picture. under mario he was promptly removed from heisman talks. he wanted to leave his junior year but his season was so bad he had to stay. his senior year wasn't much better at the time it ended he wasn't even talked about as a 1st rounder. till combine ect he was mocked in the 2-3rd rounds. after combine he was a 1st again.

Okay you’re exaggerating. One I never said Mario made him. I said he balled. Two, you’re lying. It was surprised to everyone when he announced that he was returning for his senior year. He was a lock to go 1st round. Kipper had him as the 6th best prospect and McShay had him at 20. At no point was he ever going to drop out the 1st round. Until his junior year he never played in more than 8 games, even that year he was battling injuries towards the end. Mario offense was super conservative, but it didn’t hurt Herbert’s draft status. Just read the link below. I mean the title said, “top qb prospect return for senior season.” What are you lying about?

Ummmm… you know Mario was his OC his 2nd year and HC his last 2 years.

We need to go back to our roots, a true POCKET PASSER like the old . Tvd is a great start and keep it like that. No more midgets at center. I'm not downing king but come on.
Yeah that’ll work behind this line. College football has changed. You need someone under center who can move with the pocket, and make plays with their feet when things break down. Doesn’t mean they can’t be a throw first guy, but in this age you can’t have lead feet back there

His senior year was potentially his best year at Oregon. Threw for the most yards, most TDs, 2nd best yds/att and 2nd best completion %. He was far from trash his senior year. Could he have put up bigger numbers possibly. However, the Oregon receivers seem to have stone hands back then based on the number of drops which likely contributed to his numbers being what they were

Never mind the potential racial undertones of your statement, it's also schematically wrong. The days of an immobile statue standing back there and throwing are long last. You want a talented QB that is multitalented. By the way, the people recruiting solely based on size aren't winning because a lot more goes into playing QB than being 6'4'' and 225lbs. Tons of good QBs are able to play and not have optimal size. It's about making proper evaluations and utilizing talent successfully.
