Justin Fuente and Virginia Tech

The Tidewater (Norfolk, Hampton, Va Beach, Chesapeake and Newport News) is a very strong recruiting area. Comparable to South Florida. Northern Virginia (Washington suburbs) and the counties surrounding Richmond are also pretty darn good. Then you've got the rural farm boys who no one except Tech knows about.

***** stop. Every year I hear about all this so called talent in those areas, and none of the VA schools got $h!t to show for it. Probably as much as a Big Foot as "Texas talent". ******* VA.

A lot of the upper echelon kids are going elsewhere outside the state to play.

Tell me again about all that great Northwestern talent we got. All those can't miss guys who all missed. If South Fla was what it used to be, even Shannon and Golden couldn't have screwed things up to the degree we saw from 2003-2015. We had loads of So Fla guys on those teams. Not saying the Tidewater is better than So Fla but ... if you think they don't play great HS ball there, you are dreaming.

Such a stupid *** post. Golden and Shannon’s teams were loaded with NFL players, mainly from south florida.

An occasional early round player here and there but ... for the most part, late picks or FAs.

My cousin committed to VTech, told him I wish him well. I told him when they play Miami nothing will change all about the “U”. I Was a Miami before he was born and will continue to be one long after he graduates.

Virginia Tech is one of those glass ceiling programs. They've done a good job at being a relevant/consistent top 25 team but nobody is going to mistake them for a title contender. They've only come close once and they got smoked by Florida State in the title game. They always seem to be overachieving but they never have the horses to play with the big boys.

It's good for Miami to have another perennially ranked team in the Coastal but I hardly consider them a rival. Miami has won 3 of 4 and 4 of the last 6. I think Golden had a better record against them than he did against Virginia. I guess somebody's gotta finish second in the Coastal from now on.

Yeah, late round players like allen hurns.

Please, show us some empirical evidence showing that the tidewater area is comparable to south florida. Nfl picks? Nfl players?

Va Tech will always get a bunch of players with potential and then develop them to be really good 3rd and 4th year players.

We want them to be consistently good enough to take care of weaker teams and be ranked every year... and not good enough so that we can beat them every year. Fuente will do just that for us.

In case you haven't noticed, Fuente's a good coach. They will be good for the next couple of years. I expect tons of great games between us, they're rapidly becoming one of our main rivals.

The good news is we will be better

Once we get the oline to get push up front and dope qb play we will be unstoppable

Oklahoma is in the playoffs with Texas talent. Which Florida school is in the playoffs with them?

hotshot show us some of the tidewater numbers please.

South florida players just arent what they used to be. Despite the long and consistent NFL careers of guys like travis benjamin, allen hurns, jon feliciano, and lamar miller, they just werent good enough to beat twams like virgini. Had nothing to do with the dact that they were cosches by al golden.

Summed them up pretty well if you ask me. They can be a tough out, but once we're where we should be talent wise...

Lmfao. I’m talking about now, hoss. I won’t spend the time listing the south florida legends who played in the nfl.

You’re the one who said that south florida fell off and now the tidewater area is comparable to south florida...based on what? How many guys do they have the in the nfl?

Marcus vick lmfao
