Vandy will not win that game and I’ll bet what little money in my bank account on it. Tennessee is about as good as Pittsburgh regardless.
Pitt lost to WVU. Cuse was headed to an 8-9 win season in our joke conference before the QB injury, yet got stomped by Tennessee.

Tennessee would beat Pitt by 10+

There is 0% chance we make the playoff. Beat VT 50-0 and Pitt 50-0. It doesn’t matter. They said the quality of our losses is what is holding us back and those losses are not changing.

We would need to get ranked 10 or better to get in. We would need losses from at least 3 2 loss teams ranked above us. And god forbid USCw beats the ducks they will jump us and Oregon will not drop behind us because that would be a quality loss.
Yea and if Vandy beats Tennessee, they prolly rejump us. It really isn't good.

I wonder how discussions would sound if we throttled ND instead of calling off the dogs in the 2nd half. Beat ND by 14-21 points. Give them a "bad loss" instead of a "good loss"

Its clear the committee doesnt care if a team loses a close game to a ranked team. Dont think they even consider that a loss at this point.

Should be in front of Utah and ND as well. Neither has a win of consequence if they're going to discount is cooking USF
I’m not sure why people keep saying this. I agree that we should be ahead of ND. ND beat USC though who is #15. They have 1 good win and ND is a good team. We also beat them and deserve the credit for that.

Wrong

We're at 13. Wez on the bubble this week.

Just win, and hope for some surprising upsets this weekend by teams ahead of us.

Bama lost by 14 (really 21 with the late TD) to FSU and that one doesn’t matter apparently. We could have beaten ND by 40. We lost to 2 teams with 3 losses. Bama’s losses have a worst record than our two losses. None of it matters. We aren’t getting in.

They called us a placeholder like 6 times
**** them. They’re not smart enough to know there’s SEVERAL scenarios where we can get in. BYU, Alabama, or Utah could lose. Bama is only a 5.5 point favorite over Auburn in the Iron Bowl. There’s the whacky ACC scenario as we’re still not technically out of that just yet. The CFP commentator said if we get close enough to ND the head-to-head will matter significantly. ND really has no room to move up. The teams ahead of them aren’t losing.

What garbage. “Miami’s 2 loses worse than ND’s 2 loses”, so much for winning games. “ND and Miami are not in the same tier so the head to head doesn’t matter”.
Every time I think AI should be banned humans remind me they are really dumb (the CFP not you)

The thing with Bama is that they've been so artificially pumped with "ranked wins" that it covers up that fsu loss.

They'll point to wins over Tennessee, Missouri and Vandy. Three teams that have their rankings because they are in the SEC.

P.S. the "ranked win" metric needs to be shot into the moon. A win over #25 means so much, but #26 means nothing. How stupid. These committe ppl know what theyre doing to keep the SEC at the top.

I was mocked by a few on this forum when I (sarcastically) mentioned “quality losses” would be used to justify $EC/B1G bias for playoffs.

If you’re not in those two conferences, getting in is significantly harder. The committee will say anything as “justification,” regardless of the lunacy.
"Quality losses" are not a meme my good man. They mean much more than the first 4-6 wins of the season.

idk ... i thought the narrative is we can't win in november ... so if we win out we'd be 4-1 in november, winning 4-0 to close out the year

But that’s not what he said.
