Just passing this along

UF wouldn't let him transfer here.

Gerald Willis? Or is that just a different situation ?

That's why he had to RS. UF didn't give him release, so he couldn't play this past year. You can't prevent a kid from transferring; just from playing the following year.

What??? You have to sit a year regardless. Ncaa rules unless you have graduated. UF can prevent him from transferring here.

I don't think they can prevent him from transferring here, but if they don't give him permission he can't be on scholarship for 2 full years after he leaves.

Schools can prevent players from transferring to a specific school. That's what Miami did to Storm Johnson

I don't watch any ND games, because ND, but did Dex do anything this year? If so, how did he look? Hope he freezes his tail off in bum****.

Didn't do ****.

That said, if my choice is Brian Kelly or Al Golden...and on top of it Golden doesn't make me a priority while he chases a prettier girl...I'm going Kelly every time.

I gave you the actual rule. At least that's what the rule was about 10 years ago. You can't stop someone from transferring to a particular school. But if they transfer to a school that you didn't give them permission to transfer to, then the player can't be on scholarship for 2 full years.

I thought Token Cane mentioned something about both of em being unhappy in a thread a while back

Heard about Scarlett not being happy from from the gator 247 site about a month ago, the guy said he talked to Scarlett and his mom often, and he is very credible there
Brock is this sauce a long time lurker? If not I doubt he knows anything

And for the record Dexter was HOSED by UM, not the other way around. They basically put his offer at "wait and see" status pending Scarletts decision and Dexter rightfully so after being committed for so long told UM to kick rocks.

How about we not talk **** on a kid that if Al Golden hadn't F'd him over would be a Miami Hurricane.

Everytime i hear this things i laugh because i know they aint going no dang where. Just ride that bench Scarlett. At least Cronkite plays.

As a RB, you better **** well make your NSD choice the right one. Not much of a market for transfers needing to sit out a year at that position. Too much talent coming out every year and teams keep that position stocked. As badly as we could've used Scarlett last year, if he transferred and sat out a year there'd be no place for him. Who's he beating out for a job in 2017, Walton as a Jr? Burns as a Fr? Homer as a So? Maybe even Yearby as a Sr? Not happening.

I hope Scarlett doesn't think he could start here. That kid is basically dead to me after the stunt he pulled. Its one thing to not want to play for Golden, its another thing to completely disrespect a school that had treated you well - and still had Beard, Baez and crew on staff.

Yeah him and dexter seemed scared of competition imo. Neither would have played over Walton or yearby this year.

I was upset missing Collins a few cycles ago and dalvin cook was a Heartbreaker that came back to bite us twice (would have beaten fsu both times if it weren't for him).
I didn't feel that way about either of those two

a good Michigan whooping might unravel things for Mceltooth (stolen) the way Louisville did for Muschamp

doubt uf would block him from transferring here. unless we are on the schedule. that's usually the only time a school prevents a player from going somewhere.

Dexter was in no way scared. Read my above post. He was ready to be a Miami Hurricane. Miami is the reason Dexter is not a Cane.

Why does Bruce keep coming up? Dude clearly said in his post champ game interview that he is 110% Miami and he has a bond with the Irvin's, Michael and his son. So please stop it with his possible switch to gaters. Not true and not rumored. As far as those 2 gater backs, who cares? I don't wish kids bad because your skill dictates who plays, but they seemed ecstatic to be signing with the gaters and didn't Scarlett get a gater tatoo? Now that's funny

weird...my bad. I had it in my head that Dex went to play gaytor football. (nd isn't any better, dex)

Not quite. They can't prevent you from transferring, but without a release from your scholarship, you can't be on scholarship at your new scool for the first year. It's not 2 years as far as the NCAA is concerned. However, there may be additional agreements between schools and/or conferences that may stretch it to 2 years.
