I Love Apple Juice....
Chase Smith had a durag on his 247 profile picture. Kids a ballerYou forgot Chase Smith. Idk about his demeanor...but he's a freak anywhere you put him.
He’s good to goYou think A. Williams gets cleared to play?
The lack of physicality left this defense unrecognizable this season.
Praying it’s an aberration.
Frierson had a few lapses but he was by far the most consistent db we had for sure imo. I think he’s solidified that spot and placed himself above everyone there for sure. I do Like Keontra thoughA more mentally sharp Keontra Smith, like in the Duke game, brings as much "juice" as anyone. If he's not the starting Striker gotta get him on the field as a subpackage guy (underneath zones, blitzes) over Carter and the JAG LBs like we saw in 2020.
Not trying muddy the water here but do you think there is a chance we stop seeing players playing based off seniority?
That’s why he is a pure nickel corner. You’re doing him a disservice putting him on the outside very similar to what they did with Banda. Now I know those moves were done out of desperation because Rumph is ******* dog**** at recruting but know with Trob maybe will actually be able to land true boundary and field corners so guys like couch can thrive on the inside at the slot.Couch had the dog mentality but he’s small side. But I just watched a corner I think from the rams who believe is only like 5’9 as well
Doesn’t always seem that young better players get playing time over the senior type player. Hence why did it take so long for g15 to crack lineup over patchen and god knows why pope and wiggens were still starting over the youngins this year. Hopefully all changes next year.he's saying they weren't enough.
avanate, james williams, and tyrique pushing them to be better or overtaking them. either way we're better for it
ROFL, no secondary brings "juice" running primary zone coverages, to busy trying to figure out WTF is going on, both I've and blades played with more of it when coach diaz was the d-co!It's a coaching cliche for a reason: some players bring juice to your defense. That means they play with energy, twitch and physicality. It sets a tone and gives your defense an identity.
We didn't have that last year, especially in our secondary. Blades and Ivey weren't physical. Hall was tough enough, but tended to blend in the background. Bolden was inconsistent. We were a slow, passive and uninspired defense.
TRob is known for producing DBs who play hard, fast and aggressive. He likes to create a competitive environment. But he needs new blood to crank up the temperature in the room. Enter Tyrique Stevenson. He's ridiculously explosive, with a verified 4.49 and 40 inch VJ at 200+. He's also tough as **** and plays with motor. James Williams is not only a freak, but a passionate Energizer bunny with an engine that runs the entire game. Avantae Williams is cut from the same cloth.
I expect to see a different tone on next year's defense, and those four additions are a big reason why.

Spot on, will make a major difference. It's a coaching cliche for a reason: some players bring juice to your defense. That means they play with energy, twitch and physicality. It sets a tone and gives your defense an identity.

Wiggins /Pope over anyone else but I think everyone gets point lmaoyea I think the real question is - will this staff stop catering to the upperclassmen, when it’s clear the younger players are better
we’ve seen in time and time again with Manny as a DC and now HC
Knowles over Hall/Bolden at S
Amari Carter over Hall
Patchan over Rousseau
McCloud/Jennings over younger LBs
Ford over JHH
Pope/Wiggins over Smith/Restrepo/Redding
Etc.
I don’t think it possible to be much more passive than last season but completely agree with your premise. Is Avantae Williams going to be available in the spring? Is Stevenson going to be able to get into school for spring semester? It's a coaching cliche for a reason: some players bring juice to your defense.
