Josh Pate Ranks Top 10 Current College Football Programs

Indiana is the complete outlier in that group. I want to see how their new 17 transfers replace their whole starting lineup. They brought in a higher class of transfers. I have to see it. Right now, I don't have them making the playoff. Losing that back shoulder fade alone, changes their whole offense. Hoover, Marsh and Turbo is a very nice trio package, but without that unstoppable back shoulder, I expect them to take a step back. The D is a bigger question for me.
I'd like them to **** off back to obscurity now.

Guy is a system QB. Was mid at cal and excelled at IU in their system. Take away all the free throws in the first half and he didn’t do shït against us throwing (60 yards in the second half). Should have had a pick 6 by O’Connor and needed a couple circus back shoulder catches in the second half.
The autistic little **** is going to get a GM fired.

Lanning is only 39 years old that's why. Its not surprising (to me at least) that he was outclassed by a guy who was starting his first year as a GA when Lanning was just being born (Cignetti).

I think he gets 'graded on a curve' because he has won a B1G championship and been in the playoffs twice at such a young age that people assume he will eventually grow/develop and take the next step.
He's young, but he's been reamed so hard in big games in the last few years that I'm not sure that his ****hole will every fully recover.

Prayers up for the man.

Lanning and Sark are two of the biggest head scratchers. What has either done? I could actually say both of those guys have done less than most others with similar talent, yet they both look like glazed donuts each offseason in the media. Maybe they get glazed so hard because they suck so hard?

I’m a Canes fan, but I’m also a CFB historian. Lanning will be in his 5th yr as a HC, total.

It took Saban 10 yrs to win his first title
It took Meyer 6 yrs to win his first title
It took Bowden 28 yrs to win his first title
It took Day 6 yrs to win his first title
It took Dabo 9 yrs to win his first title
It took Les Miles 7 yrs to win his first title

It’s not head scratching. Every year Oregon has gotten closer to its goal.

1st yr - 10 wins, didn’t play in CCG (won Holiday Bowl)
2nd yr - 12 wins, lost in PAC12CG (won a NY6 Bowl)
3rd yr - 13 wins, won B1G, eliminated in 2nd Rd
4th yr - 13 wins, won a NY6 bowl, eliminated in Semis

That’s trending up, just like we’ve trended up. Every team they’ve lost to either won the Nat’l Title or they played for it. Now if they backslide this season, then it’s time to start ?ing him.

Dude was handed the keys to a Lambo - just like Day was.

I'll give this response a semi-fair rating. I could pick it apart, but (without fact checking), everything you said is true/factual. Without picking it apart (Saban was at Michigan State a good while before moving on to LSU, etc), the reason I said it's semi-fair is because you didn't do the same for Sark. I don't have the time/desire to pick it apart (more than I just did). You're commentary is typically fair and spot on. This qualifies as such as well, but I don't like Sark nor Lanning and if I want to behave like a sanctimonious doosh, you can't stop me!

Behave as u may, my man. Lol

Oregon won a Nat’l title? Made the CFP? Maybe won the PAC-12 when he took over? No? So what Lambo?

U, u in particular never cease to amaze me across the pond.
I'm glad I can continue to astound you. :)

More Americans need to look beyond their own borders for inspiration. You're becoming terrifyingly insular.

List is about right, although I’d probably put us ahead of Bama but thats maybe some bias. I expect us to move up 2+ spots here after this upcoming year though.
Some bias? How about some common sense? Alabama got stomped by FSU. Alabama no longer can stack talent due do shady car dealership deals. Alabama is cooked.

Trajectory is certainly trending in the wrong direction but dude said he is ranking these teams based on the past three years and other factors. They are still winning at a clip that is top 10ish and recruiting very well.

Like I said I like him I just think he needs to be under the microscope more considering his playoff preformance. Luckily he got JMU and Tech to boost his resume. I think they are really good this year too let’s see if he squanders it

Feel like a lot of people are missing the criteria here as well as the time span (3yrs)...

Interestingly for example, our recruiting class last year would have hurt us (14th ranked). It turns out it included a 3 star called Toney, we know how that went...

Id take these with a grain of salt, fairly subjective stuff.

Dudes be on here ready to go to war if you say anything bad about dan lanning smh.
Facts. Lanning is just a glorified autistic kirby smart without the Natty's until proven otherwise and he actually wins big. Tired of hearing about all their money and uniforms yet without having any substance to accompany the hype.
