Josh Pate broke down his annual Top 10 Current College Football Program Rankings on his show. A transcript of the discussion is below:

Josh Pate: It’s time to re-rack all the pool balls and talk college football program rankings. We define a program differently than a team. This is a rolling three-year blend. How good are you at talent acquisition? How are you doing on the field? If you tanked in 2023 but surged in 2024 and 2025, we’re aggregating all that and leaning slightly toward...

I see his points for 7 win season and lack of conference titles for his knock against UM ,but the Trajectory at a coach's current program is what matters big time.

Kalen hasn't won any sec titles at Bama and is being boosted up in this "three yr window" same three yr window thats being used at the same school a former hof coach led Bama to a 12-2 record.

The same three yr window : Miami has so far competed in national championship titles, lanning and sark haven't done. winning big bowl games is something deboer hasn't done at Bama.

Adds more fuel to the fire. I dig it.

Curious to see what whittingham can do.

Indiana is the complete outlier in that group. I want to see how their new 17 transfers replace their whole starting lineup. They brought in a higher class of transfers. I have to see it. Right now, I don't have them making the playoff. Losing that back shoulder fade alone, changes their whole offense. Hoover, Marsh and Turbo is a very nice trio package, but without that unstoppable back shoulder, I expect them to take a step back. The D is a bigger question for me.

I’d like to see how his “we only practice a half hour a day” is going to play out with all the new transfers and only a handful of guys that have been in his system more than a year. Might have worked when you had the continuity of 15+ out of the starting 22 having been in the same system doing the same things day in day out for multiple years. Now that perfect alignment and execution is going to be stressed with a bunch of guys who have only been together for a few hours.

My biggest gripe is using the last two seasons heavily in IU’s ranking but then penalizing us for three years ago. Then arbitrarily using the future for a few teams but not as much for us. Anyone with half a brain realizes Bama is trending downward heavily. Using anything Saban did as justification for them is just dumb. Tout all these teams but didn’t really penalize anyone for underperforming (Texas). Just a dumb list imo.

LOL indiana gets a 2 year recency bias but miami doesnt get it when we've lost what 5 games in two years with a title game appearance?

also bama ahead? LOL.

josh pate is a hack. im glad you guys are seeing the same bull**** drivel he posts now. dudes just another hick

i cant wait for the raiders to draft Mendoza and then realize they need to draft another QB next year too.

Def some debates to be had with the criteria given

Indiana was a financial powerhouse this whole time, they just were boy scouts and didn't realize they could use that money to be good.

Cuban changed that.
