Josh Pate On Miami's Meltdown vs Georgia Tech (Late Kick Cut)

Dawson took the blame at his presser and Mario admitted he should have stepped in to call the time out. Mario was hands off with Dawson when he called that vertical to George against A&M instead of running down clock.

This time Dawson probably just wanted to ram it down GT’s throat one last time because they were frustrating him the whole game. Mario let him make the call. That’s my take.
Well then Dawson is as much of an idiot than Mario.Regardless of who's fault/Call it was, the amount of stupidity could wash out a whales ******...

The truth is Mario was told multiple times to “take a knee, the game was mathematically over and GT has no timeouts “.

There’s analysts and other coaches that are paid to keep track of every stat / analytic situation possible to man. Yet Mario said “ run it and tell Don to put two hands on it“. Then Dawson‘s job is to look at the play sheet and call a run. Even worse than the actual call is the reasons Mario gave for not doing so.

It’s nice Dawson is willing to lay on the sword (unlike Mario in the post game presser) but it was 100% on Mario and nobody else. I’m just glad he finally came out and handled it like a boss.

hopefully he doesnt have to experience it a third time to learn his lesson

I hope handling like a boss included a team apology

"Even worse than the actual call is the reasons Mario gave for not doing so."

And that was???? Dear God don't be some stat bonus. I can live with trying to get Chaney 100 yards (don't love it but w/e)

Nah

I’m talking about them folding up v unc
As we have seen in the past w Mack running a train on us

We’ve lost 3 of the past 4 years by exactly 3 points. I don’t call that running a train. We’ve also stunk out loud basically every year.

2020 was very much being ****ed by a train though, to be fair.

Offense in that game reminded me of the Gattis offense last year, predictable and boring, so disappointing to see.
Not sure if we watched the same game. Dudes were open all day long, TVD was missing reads left and right. That isn't bad game calling. Now, on the other hand, we can talk about Dawson's coaching of TVD to hit the right reads. .

Probably some play to this last second bs

Makes me think one of two things: a pride thing with the intention to run it down their throat one more time due to a poor performance or some sort of weird you guys need to earn this win by not ******* up on a drive.
