Jordan Travis's career is over

As per ESPN...
His leg never healed correctly.
His agent has said the Jets handled his rehab poorly. Jets deny this.
Either way, he was an opponent who earned our respect.
As a Jets fan, I was hoping he'd recover.
Sad.
I really dislike our team man, was hoping Travis could develop into something for us but the football Gods hate us.

Don't feel much of anything. Don't know how you guys can feel sorry for him. Homie's young and made money doing rehab and now he's done with football. It's not like he's permanently handicapped or suffering from mental trauma. He'll live.

What in the ****?

He was a 5th round pick. He didn't make THAT MUCH money "doing rehab".

As for permanently handicapped, you have no idea. I know several former Miami players that I went to school with who have serious problems. Being "permanently handicapped" is not a binary condition where you are either in a wheelchair or else you are fine. There are a lot of levels to the permanent physical limitations that retired players have to deal with.

As for the "mental trauma", again, you have no idea. Some of the CTE stuff does not present immediately, nobody knows for certain whether Jordan Travis will have to deal with issues such as these.

I was never a fan, and I hate the SemenHoles, but I can have compassion for any player whose career is cut short by injury and/or botched recovery.

Time flies man. This is from September 2017:
In all candor, I REALLY thought you were wrong when Travis threw the pass that Phillips intercepted. But he definitely became a big time college player. I didn’t really think his game translated very well to the NFL, but I wish he had the chance to prove me wrong as he did in college.

I wasn’t necessarily rooting for him to be a successful NFL player, but I did want him to have the chance at playing again. I never want to see a players career abruptly end due to an injury.

Now, I will say I never cared for the guy as a player. I thought he was disrespectful and disingenuous once he became a successful college qb. I know he had a chip on his shoulder and he proved a lot of doubters wrong, including me, but he was very disrespectful to some of his opponents and also in some interviews. Just came across as bitter and spiteful. Cam Ward overcame the same issues and doubters, but he was much more gracious and respectful about his journey. Always giving credit to teammates and coaches. Very confident, maybe even ****y at times, but also humble and appreciative. Cam wasn’t hateful towards those they may have doubted him or initially didn’t give him a shot. Jordan Travis’ attitude was the opposite of that.
