To be fair…Im not sure our staff had the time and resources to personally wine and dine him, and personally escort him around and have players host him. Probably some Personnel department members hosted him. Tough situation to navigate with the commitment to the NC and scheduled events on the Saturday. If he doesn’t understand that we are kind of busy, then he is not the guy we want anyway.

Very much true. You'd think that "Hey, this team is playing for a title, their OL is **** good and they want me to be part of the next wave" would be attractive, but we know that some of these young men make irrational decisions. We know this because there's no rational reason to explain why a 5 star OL, with absolutely no ties to CU would select that school in the first place. That said, I know our support staff did everything they could, they are professionals.

Bomani Jones has described Lane Kiffin to a T for years. Kiffin is a clown, a clown that somehow has managed to succeed in a field where it's almost impossible to succeed being the way he is. He's Bobby Petrino, but Lane got a divorce before the sketchy stuff came out.
 
Kfffin iirc secured several really big NIL fish season before last and underperformed that season at Ole Miss.
 
Look man, if we pay that kid he will come. LSU is way more desperate along the OL than we are. Mirabal been training trench bullies to replace our guys.

Where was he gonna go though? He had a huge NIL deal with us and was under performing. Nobody was gonna pay him what he was getting paid here. It’s great that he finally started to flash this year. Next year is a big money year for him.
