Jordan Lyle - what's the story?

Yes, he's been terrible I think that's why @bshaw28 made this thread...

Who did he take them from in the Spring and Fall to be RB1? Why would he go from RB 1 to RB 4/5 during the year?
Yes - better said and more to the point than my rambling. My actual main question is:

Why/How did Lyle go from the Top of the depth chart to Last on the depth chart in 1 week?

"Pringle beat Lyle out" doesn't explain what Brown & CWH also did in 1 week to also beat out Lyle

The combo of Lyle still starting + Pringle being 5th on the depth chart so late in the season is a whole other issue.

Yea, it makes no sense. I highly suspect it has something to do with their NIL stating they need certain snaps/guarantees/playing time/ etc but that may just be my tin foil hat buzzing.

It's that or being slow to adapt to the way players are actually playing.

Pringle is a true freshman and it may have taken him a little while to get acclimated - especially pass pro.

not sure if already but mentioned, but didnt he get a pay increase after bama overtures in the offseason? if so, gotta think he takes a cut or leaves, not saying its what should happen

I'm not losing any sleep if he enters. If he wants to win the job back, by all means, stay. You won't hear any complaining from me. Really don't have a preference either way

I said this last portal cycle, but I would very much like to bring in an RB like Dylan Edwards. I think it’s very clear moving forward that we really need to emphasize the need for a shifty, vision-based RB who can make reads and cuts in tight space between the tackles.

He had an ankle injury this year, and I’m sure part of him wants to start, but what better place to get back on track than Miami, if the money is right?

Pringle-Fletcher
Edwards-Brown

That’s the diverse RB room I personally think we need. A TRUE “thunder and lightning” approach should be adopted. Stiffer track speed doesn’t translate in this offense.

Its crazy because he ran well in this scheme last year.
Yeah against meh opposition

Exactly

2024 vs P4 teams:
WF was a great game. 16.4 ypc
6 out of 7 other games were under 4.0 ypc. Averaged 2.9 ypc

2025 vs P4 teams:
5 out of 6
games were under 4.0 ypc. Averaged 3.1 ypc

Lyle is the same dude this year as he was last year (minus 1 big game)

Correct

I keep seeing "poor vision" so I did some homework on “poor vision” and found that the American Academy of Ophthalmology does not recommend cannabis for treating poor vision.

Perhaps both make it harder for one to see the field or find one's way out of the dog house.
