Jordan Lyle - what's the story?

I think it’s likely a combination of injuries and ineffectiveness in our run scheme. Our run game for a majority of the season was “run into the back of an offensive lineman and let another lineman push you forward”. Not the best way to use a 190lb running back. I feel he would have had more success if we had used him the way we used Pringle towards the end of the season but it looks like that ship has sailed. Probably not a legit RB1 on a contender but could find a good home in the portal. Either as a RB2 at another P4 school or maybe a starter at a lower level program. I think he’s a better running back than Chris Johnson Jr.

Pringle has been by far the most effective RB in this offense to actually produce points. When we just sit there and run up the A gap, Fletcher has done well and about as much as you can ask for. But the issue is that shouldn't be what we intend on doing and choosing to have that type of RB getting 150 carries is just crazy. We basically have 3 Fullbacks on this offense.
Some rb’s have alot of movement and go no where. Everymove by pringle moves the ball forward.

Lyle is 205.

DMoney's said repeatedly he looks bigger than that in person & looks like an NFL RB.

Lyle's not big or small - he's average. Big enough that he shouldn't be useless running inside.

If Lyle sees himself as a RB1 (which IMO he does) - I'd advise him to go G5.

It’s not that complicated.
Have you seen Lyle run when he was inserted into the lineup after his injury?
Lyle was given every opportunity to take the job back and couldn’t perform. He lacks vision and couldn’t spark the run game. So we went to Pringle who has been getting the job done, that Lyle couldn’t.

Seeing his snaps when he's been on the field do you really feel this thread is necessary? Who should he take snaps from?
Yes, he's been terrible I think that's why @bshaw28 made this thread...

Who did he take them from in the Spring and Fall to be RB1? Why would he go from RB 1 to RB 4/5 during the year?
