Not comparing the 2, but Brashard was another who was misused. The guy had our 2 longest and most explosive plays of the year. Yet we never found a way to incorporate him in the offense. Any common sense OC or coach says we have a playmaker. Utilize him the best way we can in the confines of our offense. X earned his playing time and not saying he should have sat a couple plays. Just saying gotta learn or know how to get YOUR GUYS on the field and put them in the best situations. I mean if I retuned a KO for TD, caught a 40+yd TD and had an 80+yd run. I would expect to touch the ball a bit more. That’s just me.

The only way I’ve been able to make sense of Brashard’s lack of inclusion was off the field type stuff…

Little things that aren’t really little things when you’re talking big picture. He was easily our best big play guy and had limited opportunities. In no way do I have any inside info but the kid wasn’t injured and he just seemed too talented to keep off the field otherwise.

Chris Johnson needs to, at minimum , be first in the pecking order at kick return.

But he needs carries. Tunnel sceeens too. He’s a touchdown waiting to happen

Him and Martinez could be a great 1-2 punch. He will have his opportunity this year. Up to him to seize the moment, especially early on with Fletcher being hurt.

I realize why everyone is excited about Johnson. The kid is A-Train fast. But he showed no balance and ability to get yards after contact last year. Did he even take one swing pass? I don't remember it if he did. Of course that was on our QBs as well. And then there wasn't much about him during Spring ball when we would hear about guys like Duke breaking ankles or Walton vaulting over defenders, or Lofton looking like he is NFL ready. At one point, D$ said Lofton could be our second back after Fletcher, before Martinez transferred in.

So I'm in "show me" mode. He may be the next HOF Chris Johnson. But I don't see how you can say anything other than he's fast right now.

Dude was phenomenal. Our RB room is deep, he’s a true freshman that came in during summer and earned snaps against a big rival on the road. That means he busted his ****ign ***. And on every carry he did not go down at first contact. He’s going to be a good one.
