Jontavius Wyman SR HL

Where do you see his best fit at?

Nickel

If he could cut it physically, I think he could thrive at FS too, but he may be too slight for it. Those instincts and ball skills will get him on the field, he looks like he needs to add some weight though (which could be said for vast majority of DBs entering college). JMO

It’s been reported the staff is putting a big emphasis on senior tape to validate what they saw, or a jump kids made. They’ve also been willing to part ways with kids that didn’t make a jump or didn’t live up to their film.

Whatever they did is working. Our hit rate is improving fast.

Wyman is a baller. There are some major players in this class who are about to hit campus. We are so deep at most positions it's stunning. IMO, we have future all-conference types at DB who aren't even seeing the field (Antoine and Wallace). And we just stacked another class. ... I'm most interested in seeing how this DL class develops. That is a major philosophical shift by Hetherman, JT and Lewis.

You see Wallace as an all conference player? Not saying you’re wrong but I haven’t heard anything about the kid for quite some time

I do. The injury set him back obviously. But I'm pretty sure he's been ready to go for a while. We don't rotate our safeties very much, and he came in needing more S&C. With Poyser, Thomas, Fitzgerald and Day (and Pruitt), we don't get to see him. But I expect his name will be called early and often in Winter/Spring Camp.

Last year there was a lot of hype around Lowe and he didn’t even get a snap, kid is going to be good

That Wallace injury was pretty devastating. I am glad we are bringing him along slowly. He has that ability to be a nickel or safety. Pretty good closing speed and not afraid to hit. He will be in the mix next year as long as he has no injury setbacks.
