Jojo and Lyle's Impact vs UF

Jojo played 9 snaps and was targeted several times vs Notre Dame. It's pretty clear what they think of him. Stop that 5th or 6th string talk cause that's absolutely not what Pete said. Lyle and Jojo are probably in the mix for our top skill position players. The answer is huge impact. Mario has recruited a bunch of dudes at WR and RB, we haven't needed them yet. This squad has a lot of good skill players, not sure we have anyone great that's able to be a star in the NFL. I'm still holding onto hope that's Jojo, Lyle, Josh Moore, Baby Jesus, etc.. We lack greatness at the skill spot.

I think optimally we have Fletcher and Lyle as the 1-2 and Brown comes in later in the game to pound the ball or on short yardage settings. I think JoJo is extremely talented but needs to mature. I think he will still make a big impact on the year whether it's tonight or sometime down the road.

Given all that is true, don't you think he needs to get his head on straight? It's all right there in front of him. He sat last year and watched his buddy light it up at OSU. You'd think that would be motivation.

The entire community is rooting for him but HE has to want to do it.

Injuries are one thing. But disciplinary issues are all on him

Sure. None of us know exactly why he missed a game or 2. All I know is, they made it a priority to target him in his 9 snaps. I am just letting it play out and trying to not jump to conclusions.

I have pretty low expectations regarding Trader. When you have a guy like Smith lined up elsewhere on the field, it's easy to get targets and put up stats. Smith would eat up a lot of coverage, leaving him one on one. Lots of second WR's put up stats when you've got an all world WR taking most of the coverage.

So I was skeptical since then. I didn't watch entire games to see how he did out there, how talented he really was, and I admit I'm not an expert like I would've been 20 years ago when I would do all of that. I was just playing the percentages. It is rare you have two baller *** college receivers from the same team. It happens and I hope it happens wirh him. I'm not writing him off, I hope he's part of that low percentage that balls out as the far and away second receiver. Yes, injuries happen, hope he recovers too. We'll see and I'll be happy with what he can give.

I say it all the time, UM has the worst fans in all of college football. There is no way you watch Jojo in HS and say he was what he was because of who was on the other side of the formation. Jojo was just as lethal as Jeremiah in HS......it was whatever you can do I can do better. Some of you are mad cause it has not happened for Jojo yet, but best believe if and when the light goes off for Jojo all you nay sayer are gonna understand what a talent he is.

Now with all that said Jojo needs to take his career more serious and hit the weight room get stronger and stop all the BS activities off the field and become the player we know he can be. There is not 1 WR in that room more talented than Jojo, but they all are more motivated and focus in my opinion!!

And just for fun, because we all seem to have short memories @ssvir, here's you putting Jojo into our top 3 at WR this spring.

To be clear, I don't blame you. It's spring hype by Canes media that got everyone wild. I just don't like the "what's the obsession with" post when you were feeling that obsession 5 months ago.

and my point is the guy has been passed over by Moore and has been unavailable so why are people putting so much energy into a guy that doesn't play. When he's on the field hopefully he produces but he hasn't done **** yet. Another Greentree AA

Did he? All along? Should be easy to cite it then. In the meantime, here's D$ in the spring (echoing what most Canes media was saying into fall camp)...

It was on his discord. He said before the season he's been passed up and he's too weak

Gaslight what? I'm sick and tired of the "Where's Waldo' posts.

When and if he's ready he'll play.

STFU until it happens.
You give it a rest. Here was the nonsense you added

He's not physically built enough, always injured, and was supposedly a disciplinary sit last game.

Because Canes State Media spent 80% of the offseason gassing this kid up like he was the second coming until about 50 days ago when they abruptly stopped talking about him. That's who you should be frustrated with.

To be clear for the whiny ******* and pathetic ******** ... that's you @franchise , I hope that Jojo goes into a phone booth, puts on a cape, and plays like JSmith.

My point has been its pretty clear he's been passed up on the depth chart so maybe spend some time focusing on the guys actually playing (Marion/Moore) in front of him that are playing great so far.

A few things on the Jo Jo front I believe are the reasons he’s sooo hyped. Not saying it’s undeserved or not:

1. High School Tape
2 Pop Tart Bowl
3. His proximity to Jeremiah
4. S. Florida WR hype
5. D-Money typical exaggeration

Hopefully he is all they believe he can be but I understand your sentiment

Trader has his work cut out for him. He’s definitely losing chances to get snaps because the wrs have been playing great so far. Look the potential is there; he had a great spring and looked like our best WR. However, he’s clearly in some sort of slump right now. I’m not sure if it’s injury related, disciplinary reasons, it doesn’t matter. Rooting for him to be a contributor this year. On him to grind it out and earn those reps back

WTF is the obsession with Jojo.

I hope he becomes part of the rotation but why does everyone spend so much energy on a 5/6th WR?
It’s hard not to agree with this. I hope he has a breakout game in all that talent comes to fruition, but who knows if it’s actually ever going to happen for him.
