I wonder what he thinks of this teams inadequate abilities? Anyone know him well enough to inquire? He sure isn't getting his moneys worth.
John Ruiz is a ridiculously successful dude who has built successful companies. He's put teams together to achieve his goals and he's a tireless worker.
Unlike short-sighted fans, Ruiz can assess where Miami was and the fact it will take time to get it where everybody wants. Fans are still ****ing and moaning over 20 years of incompetence and irrelevancy, so they're taking out all that frustration on year one of the Cristobal era.
Ruiz—like any fan with common sense and logic—can accept this year isn't going the way anybody wanted, but the infrastructure is in place to build something in due time.
Cristobal at the helm, Dan Radakovich as athletic director, a virtually endless supply of money that is being invested into the infrastructure—Miami is building something for the long-term that will endure.
Cristobal knows this year was a failure and his talk about getting back to work is just that; it's not hyperbole or coach-speak. There is a lot of work to be done as this thing gets stripped down to the studs and rebuilt.
Rebuilds like this aren't for the weak and someone like Ruiz who understands the process and long-term visions—he will most-likely double down on his efforts to help speed up the process, while a misguided portion of this fan base screams and hollers down here with pee dribbling down their leg.
