Joe Yearby

Except Portis could outrun everyone.

I noticed this last year watching Yearby, he hits the hole fast and hard. His cuts are very sharp and he maintains good speed in and out of his cuts. He is not going to out run anyone I don't think but he runs with a violence. If he can get that Duke like stiff arm he will do very well. At 205lbs he will be durable enough. Remember he's only 5'9" (on a good day".

You just described Clinton Portis

Good luck to anyone trying to run behind this OL.

We won't miss the 9th and 128th pick in the NFL draft.

Darling and Odog**** will step right in and replace Feliciano's 44 starts and Flowers' 30 starts.

Nothing to worry about!

Our OL with 22 combined starts will be better than last year.

The running game and Kayaa will see significant regression.

and he was running behind McKinnie, Romberg, Rodriguez, etc.

You just described the UM running back who I think is Yearby's closest comparison.

Can Walton out run a secondary?

no

Does he need too? did dookie ever house a 70 yarder on a top 25 team...
its about 4 yards and vision..
Yearby and walton would be studs in any other team...

We good

Yes he needs too!!! Do you see our offens putting up consistent 10 play drives? If we have4 yards and a cloud of dust that's exactly what we must do...lol I love how u had to preface it by sayin on a top 25 team... How many top 25 teams do we play this year? I'm not worrying about beating them we beat the others and were 9-3 or 10-2. And yes it would help if we had a running back that could go 70 on these teams

Anyone think Yearby will be strong enough to carry the load at RB this fall? He seems a bit light to be an every down back. He needs to have a "Duke" like season. IMO we are really going to miss Edwards.

yearby is no duke hes more of a cooper imo.

Yearby is better than Coop and it's not even close.

Please don't compare that Tennessee back to a Dade great

Your south Florida bias is overwhelming, yearby no doubt will be good, but was also very good for Miami.

I was talking about last year and the use of Dukes all pro speed... I saw it in flashes against Ak st ciny etc...

Yearby and Walton do not need track speed...sure would be nice but we need tough backs that can run between the tackles and get yardage and not get broken ankles or hurt

As long as he learns how to get hit (if that make sense) he should be alright. I dont think he is a workhorse and hopefully we dont use him like one

I think he can be that who breaks multiple 10-15 yards runs a game. He just doesn't have that long speed. He definitely has that burst though. I'd like to know if Walton brings that to the table though. Can Walton out run a secondary?

How would you compare him to Alex Collins?

Yearby may not be as good as Duke but I feel like he's going to be good enough to get the job done.

He is plenty fast, just need him to realize he is valuable and not try to be the hero. I also like the fact he is not afraid to be hit. He does not shy away from contact and lowers his shoulder and gets his center of gravity low to get a good push. No dancing in the backfield, kid likes to run.

Cooper?

He was a nice player but vision and balance left a lot to be desired, imo.
