Joe Jackson declares for draft

With limited depth how much playing time how much did he play last year?

As the 5th DE he didn't play much but I think they were trying to redshirt him.

We don't have other options at DE unless Harvey and Williams are ready to play. Maybe Blissett?

I get it...but it's a deep draft and he didn't have a great year due to injury. He has one move and gets coverage sacks. I wouldn't be surprised if he went 4/5.

Go kill it, Joe. Awesome to see these guys putting in the work and realizing a dream. That happens, at the :neonu:

Some of you creeps who tweet at recruits need to get on Bogle about this. He can potentially start right away.

I could see late 2nd through mid 4th. Nice player but his stock declined this season while so many other players rose sharply. For example, watch the Clemson or Mississippi State defensive linemen. Those are men, not boys. Completely different how those frames look compared to someone like Jackson. How is a team supposed to consider Jackson when players like Montez Sweat are out there? That's the type of player you are competing against for late first round this year, and Jackson simply isn't on that level.

2019 is an exceptionally deep draft for defensive linemen. I think too many fans are assigning typical distribution. That's why they assume Jackson might go high. This year is anything but typical. There are at least twice as many top rated guys as the norm at those positions. Even if the league does value those positions there are simply so many to choose from this year. The kid who just declared from Florida will be picked ahead of Jackson.

another fifth rounder, sorry, I just don't see higher...

We need a DE transfer bad to comen in and start.

I'd take a DT transfer as well. Nesta likes to talk a good game but he needs to take a HUGE leap next season. Some of the stuff I saw in the Wisconsin game was not so great. Didn't seem like he had many moves or technique. When his bull rush didn't work, kind of got taken out of the play.

This guy was one of the few highly sought after recruits I can recall that simply committed without any fanfare, never waivered, never posted any of that 100 % committed blah blah blah, didn't do many if any interviews, just stayed quiet, and then enrolled at the U.

He's been pretty much the same as a player - not a loudmouth just does his job, in addition to of course being an outstanding player.

Hope he crushes it on the next level !!

Yeah we are getting nice DE recites but their bodies not ready for a full college football season.

Yup heard the same with McIntosh and Norton. Typical Miami shades.

Wish he stayed. It does seem that his only move is the bull rush though. Probably 2nd-4th rnd
