Why did it take him 5 years to graduate from Minnesota State Mankato?

- He retained Golden this off-season despite the most toxic environment around a program I've ever seen and enough overwhelming evidence to suggest he would never win here, essentially wasting a season.
- He handles the media terribly. Every time he opened his mouth this past year he did nothing but incite a riot with his idiotic comments.
- It was revealed even after being raped to the high heavens by Clemson, he still did not want to fire Golden until the end of the season.
- He was a ticket operations guy here? Basically after losing another AD, Shalala was pressed to replace him. "Just hire the next moron you see."
- Stumbling down the hall and eating a hot dog is Blake James. "Hey, you're the new AD." "Me?" as mustard falls on his tie.
- The rest is history.

Now we wait two weeks after firing our coach to shell out 250K so a bunch of consultants can spend their day having Buck Ortega explain to them why Tim Walton should be the next head coach. What are we doing here?

Joaquin is a known embellisher. I remember when he said that Golden denied Jimmy Johnson's invitation to help with the defense and Jimmy said to the Herald that it never happened. I doubt he talked to anyone. Just think about it, the search firm was hired to conduct a national search to find coaches that may have interest in the position. How could Butch and Cristobal be leading when they were just hired? He's full of it.
 
Yep, Butch is as eloquent as coaches get. Just give him the job with Mario as a coordinator, if Mario proves his worth then he can take over for Butch when he retires with another championship.

Especially after weathering one of the most toxic, cancerous, offseasons ever by sticking with a coach as obviously pathetic as Al was, and then sticking by the AD who refused to fire him until *****slapped by millionaires. People are cantankerous for good reasons.

Has Mario been hired yet? Has any coach been hired? Seems kind of silly to get angry about something that hasnt happened yet.
 
It isn't a one-emotion fits all situation. Disenchanted, discouraged, dejected all go with the territory of 13 years of losing and no faith in the university administration. Not a difficult mindset to empathize with I should hope.
 
Isn't that all the more reason to weight past experience? Why should we expect anything different? Going to a firm with a stroke for an AD and only reluctantly making the firing after fan uproar: check. Asking for players input: check. Most speculation surrounding in-house or former in-house guys: check.

I don't exactly know why you're set on invalidating warranted concern, but count me in as skeptical that these idiots have a clue what they're doing, and will likely at some point over the next several weeks need a "push," via email, banners, or otherwise, away from some really stupid options for coach.

Hired and fired the soccer coach I believe. It's so cold in Mankato it's tough to get to class. Hard for an AD not to say retarded things about our football program.

when Butch was hired by UM back in the 90s, the word was he wasn't even close to being the early favorite and in the interviews he did so well that UM had to hire him......they made the RIGHT choice then and they have to make the RIGHT choice now. SAVE THE U
