Such a tiresome topic. We've already had threads about Watt and his Canes fandom. If people are going to (erroneously) cry then start with his Central Michigan teammate from Miami that we "missed" on too. I'd personally prefer to just whine about how we let Brian Piccolo get away.

Who is JJ Watts? I know there was a QB back in the day named JC Watts who played for Alabama I think before going to the CFL.

JC and JJ are actually brothers. Both Watts served in Congress years ago with Steve Largents.

JJ Watt wasn't what he is now coming out of high school.

Kids frequently develop an awful lot between 17 and 20 y.o. (though rarely as drastically as Watt). Which is why recruiting is about more than just accumulating the most 5 star players (though on average, you want the higher-rated prospects).

You just wonder if these people are so devoid of intellect they walk around with drool cups tied to their chins.

For gods sake just do 2 seconds worth of research to see he wasn’t a major P5 prospect out of high school. No different than thousands of graduating football seniors that are canes fans but don’t have the resume. A handful are going to blow up at smaller schools or as walkons of course, but no telling who they are.

It’s interesting the way Watt has blown up. Don’t remember hearing much about him in college. Modern medicine works wonders for certain bodies.

I dunno, bro. I'm not sure if we'll ever really be "back" unless we start hitting on the 2 star white guys from Pewaukee, Wisconsin that have The U saved on their dvr and got a replica turnover chain for Christmas this year too. A true sign of recruiting excellence is to go hit all those upper midwest states and take a deep look at these d-lineman that only have offers from directional schools in Michigan. THAT my friend is how you build a championship college team.

Anyone know why the Niners didn't draft Brady? Heard he was a YUGE fan.
