Read Jimmy was wandering in traffic, disoriented, and resisted. At that point police wouldn’t know he’s had a seizure. They took him to the hospital, as they should. Hope he gets well and help. Maybe time to retire? He’s played for a long time.

Initially I wanted to blast anybody that felt compelled to frame this as an "arrest" but upon seeing the details you referenced it seems accurate and like good work that potentially saved Jimmy and/or others from harm. Agreed, in that he should take any medical advice about playing or not very seriously. Dude has had a fantastic career.

I don’t work in law-enforcement, but I suspect anytime the police detain someone it might technically be labeled an arrest, or at least detained. Especially if the person resisted. Seems the cops did the right thing, realizing Jimmy Graham wasn’t high or drunk, and was having a medical issue. If this was in New Orleans, the officers may have recognized him. I will assume he had ID on him as well. They did the right thing and took him to a local hospital. hopefully everything works out for the best.

I just felt compelled to reply to the post categorizing Graham as arrested for having a seizure.

I just read this a little more so I wanted to make sure I got thos right. I am former LEO and this doesn't sound like he was arrested. If he was arrested he would have gone from the hospital to the local jail to await a bond hearing. This sounds more in line with being detained as a risk to self and others. Not a Baker or Marchman Act either since there was no mandatory holding period. Based on the official statement, the guy on Twitter got it wrong. I will stand by that unless I see a further official statement.

Yes, sounds like this was more of a Baker Act lite, without the mandatory hold. In other words, detained for his safety and the safety of others. This was definitely not an arrest though, no matter how you classify it.

My only concern is for Jimmy himself, and hopefully they can figure out what’s wrong, whether it was some kind of a biological brain issue, or maybe even an inadvertent intoxication with some substance. Who knows.

I know he’s a pilot and has led, from all appearances, an extremely responsible life. So this is somewhat concerning.

My only issue was the use of the word "arrested. "
