Jess Simpson gone.

Nepotism. Same as the last staff.

Manny was PART of the last staff.

No, he obviously didn't get fired.

Simpson was the most important position coach on the team IMO. This is a huge loss but a sign we are headed in the right direction.

Manny moves quickly. This coaching staff doesn’t miss a beat. Keeps rolling.

what is wrong with yall in this thread, not even one down of football has been played

idk about that one chief

Man Stroud was hired while Simpson was still here .. I recall thinking what position is he coaching now we know. Someone mentioned Metro-Atl. connect (Simpson) man couldn't even get kids from Buford and he used to Coach there they don't really mess with Jess Simspon (the new Buford) that is..

Lol at “nepotism.”

[904Cane]

I don't know how good Simpson was as a Coach he was only here 1 season and coached some kids that were pretty good before he got here.

Lol have you seen Manny at the playground with Stroud? How do we know they’re friends? Could it be Manny just thinks the guy is a good coach?

[Captain Uberpants]

Good for Simpson (assuming it’s a promotion in some way).

DL ate with Kool, ate with Simpson, and will eat with Stroud.

[Ziggy]

The Jess Simpson era went quick. He was a great hire for us but sounds like he will be an NFL guy from here on.

yea its not like he coached mario williams the number one pick or anything.. what r these people thinking

Everyone cried when Kool left last year. Simpson did a good job but he's hardly Irreplaceable.

[rsa coral gables]

sounds coordinated and timed which means it was not a surprise for manny and he had time to find someone apparently to his liking and competent.

[ghost2]

Disappointing but not terribly shocking. Simpson was an up and coming coach with NFL ties and an NFL "trajectory." Those guys usually don't stay in college jobs long. Intrigued by Stroud.

You sir, have just opened my eyes. I'm out too. Luckily, at the same exact time Manny fired his best position coach, he got a job with an NFL team. I'm sure that is purely coincidence as your version seems much more likely.

That happened quickly or at least it was very hush hush. Recruits seemed to really like Simpson from what I was reading.

Seems like it's going to hurt us in recruiting on the front end. Hopefully the fact we have a full cycle ahead let's us do damage control. Simpson is a good coach.
