The discussion came up the in live about Jeff Thomas .
Personally he’s one of all time favorite recent canes of all time along with Jaquan and Pinckney

I would say he’s was most talented WR in the last 10+ years
My arguement for this

He was our Best Punt Return in the last 10 years
He was the best Deep Ball Receiver in that span
Despite his height he was probably best 50/50 ball receiver in 10 years
Alll while having Nkosi Perry and Jarren Williams as his QB ,the worst QBs of the last 10 years
On top of the Ron Dugans has turned out to be the worse WR coach we every hired .

He was awesome to watch

I think we glorify players like this too much because of highlights. He quit on his team in the middle of the season. I don't want to judge him personally because he had a rough upbringing and I'm not in his shoes, but his career was a tremendous disappointment.

Mike Harley had a much better career for us because of his work ethic and maturity. That's the type of guy we should be celebrating.

The goal, of course, is to have an Andre Johnson with Hall of Fame talent and Hall of Fame work ethic. But the successful receivers here (Hurns, Osborn, Restrepo, Berrios, Harley, Hankerson, Dorsett) always have it between the ears.

Just can’t get the fumbled punt return against the Gayturds at Camping World out of mind. Being on the sideline with my brothers, it just absolutely killed the mojo and deflated the **** out of us!
Didn't he also drop a pass in the endzone that game as well?? Regardless, all I know is I was mad af at him for that game. Don't think I ever fully forgave him lol

I always saw JT4 as a great player stuck in a very bad situation. My only issue is you saying the kid can be 20 times better than JT4 to me that’s diminishing him almost making him look like he was a scrub.

Very well said. It's frequently about more than physical talent.

Jeff had a hard upbringing, as many kids do, and I desperately wanted him to make the most of his opportunity here and turn things around, but it just wasn’t meant to be.

This place **** all over Harley.

Imagine JT4 in this system with this coaching
Idk he probably would have needed to be on a 2001 canes team type of locker room… I don’t think we are fully there yet

Kid was talented he was making plays in that LSU game in Dallas… but man the quitting on the team and sometimes I felt like half effort on his routes is tough to not remember

I always though jeff thomas was bi polar undiagnosed.
He quit the same way on his high school team and i think its the mood swings.

He still had some untapped talent there and would have killed in dawsons scheme

Jeff Thomas is the prime example of pro bowl physical talent and Juco level heart and discipline.
If jt4 had the work ethic and discipline of x or kj osbourne he would be playing on Sunday’s and writing up a ridiculous second contract.
It’s more frustrating than it is sad.
Unfortunately, that level of commitment and preparation is way way more rare than the talent jt4 had.
