Kaaya was playing his best football, by far, at the end of his career here. The second half of 2016 he had total command of the offense and did what he was supposed to do, get the ball into the hands of his playmakers in space and let them make plays. Richt also did a **** good job of calling plays to his strengths.

CMR's problem is his offense stinks if he doesn't have what Kaaya gave him-a smart, dedicated, accurate, experienced QB.

Smh. Dear, dear, dear. Sigggggggggggggggh.

Mayfield stats: 70% of his passes completed on 400+ attempts
Darnold stats: 63.1 % of his passes completed on 450+ attempts (and he can run which caused a lot of his sacks)
Rosen stats: 63% of his passes completed on 450+ attempts
Rudolph stats: 65 % of his passes completed on 470 + attempts

The outlier is Josh Allen who was all hype. He had a prototypical NFL QB frame and his pro day wowed when he launched the ball 70 yrds.

You also failed to address the real concern which was Kaaya's stiffness. Richt's scheme put the limelight on that, so if you could actually read and comprehend, you would see that I was alluding to that him getting sacked a bunch in 2016, along w/ several games w/ 0 TDs, along w/ passing under 250 yrds on 40% of the games he played all played a factor in his stock plummeting.

EXACTLY. His last 4 games here. That's when Richt FINALLY wised up to play to Kaaya's strengths which is why I said the narrative after the WVU game was did Kaaya do enough to be considered a top tier QB, again.

I literally just outlined what happened in 2015 v. 2016 on an apples to apples basis. Literally Kaaya missed 2 games in 2015. So technically he did not increase in every stat metric.

It's funny how draft experts stated he faltered due to his shaky junior tape:
“Sources say the reason why Kaaya slid was a combination of bad tape and questions about his personal makeup. Teams felt that Kaaya’s junior year tape was very shaky, and as a result, he was graded in Day 3 for many."

They also mentioned that his flaws were further highlighted that season. So after his sophomore year, he was predicted to go top 10 (based upon potential). After his junior campaign, and his first 4 games, he was projected to go 3rd/4th. After his first 8 games, it was stated he should come back and help re-establish his draft stock. Why? B/c Richt's scheme put his liabilities on full display, and by the time Richt changed up his scheme to fit and highlight Kaaya's strengths, the jig was up.

He dropped b/c the scheme didn't fit the QB. He literally put Kaaya's limitations on full display instead of being the "QB guru" he's supposed to be and taking what Kaaya thrived in prior to, and building upon that.

I'm going to say this one last time, and b/c I'm watching it in full bloom w/ my Bears, I can speak on this:
The question came about when Trubisky got injured, how would Nagy adjust his scheme to fit Chase Daniels on short notice. You know what Nagy said? He said, I know Mitch's strengths and weaknesses, and I'll game plan for that. Chase strengths and weaknesses are different, so I'll game plan for that.

DING DING DING. That's what a good coach does. He doesn't try to fit a square peg in to a round hole. Had Richt called plays like he did the last 4 games of the season for Kaaya, for the whole season, we probably would've been talking about vying for a play off position instead of going on a four game losing streak, and Kaaya most likely would've went no later than the 3rd round.

He finally changed the offense late in the year to fit Kaaya’s strengths.

That’s the problem with the coaching staff. We make adjustments on obvious things too late. Things the common uneducated fan as Rick calls us can see

UNC, Pitt, Duke, and Virginias defenses were all significantly worse in 16 than 15. GT was about the same and VT was the only school to have a better defense in 16.

FSUs defense took a massive step back in 16. Then we had to go up against Clemson instead of NC state in our cross divison game. WVUs defense was laughable and was not as good as WSUs defense and Nebraskas defense blew the ND swiss cheese defense out of the water.

There is a reason the scouts thought Kaaya was a first round pick pre Richt and after Richt he was at the end of the 6th round. Even with the easier schedule Kaaya averaged the same amount of yards per game as he did in 15. Yes he had more TDs, but that is because Njoku became an absolute red zone monster in 2016. Even Rosier would be able to score often in the red zone if he had njoku going for the jump balls.
